The application is for submission to a system where there is a master record (the submission) and secondary records. A second page allows the user to edit individual sub records in a grid, like an Excell sreadsheet in appearance. The main record has about 20 fields, perhaps 2 K of data and the sub records about 5 or 6 fields representing perhaps 150 characters. There are no graphics to speak of, all data is text.
Think of it like a class record with the main record having: subject, teacher, schedule, etc and then the sub-records would be the students with name, age, grade and mark.
As we add students, the performance starts to suffer. Why and what performance would you consider reasonable. Are we doing too much allowing the user to edit up to 50 students using a grid like this?
Back-end is Oracle, browser is IE and it runs over an enterprise WAN with the odd dial up user but most on 100MB ethernet.

I've been flirting with the secretary at work for some time now, and not only has she been receptive, but has been flirting quite a bit herself. So this past week, I decided to take it up a notch, and I slipped a naked picture of myself in her briefcase as it was sitting beside her desk, with a note on it asking if she liked what she saw.

As it turns out, our boss has a briefcase that looks exactly like hers and had leaned it up against her desk that morning while he went off to the coffee machine. So, instead of placing the picture in her briefcase, I put it into his by mistake.

Well, now he's coming onto me, as he apparently is gay. Ironically, I never saw that one coming, he's married with a couple of kids. How do I let him down easily without hurting his feelings or loosing my job?

Me and some people that I know got into a deep argument about alot of racial/ethnicity/nationality labeling things the other day. and a topic about Jews came up.

one person was bring up the argument that a jew is a race.......but i think that when a person say they are jewish that it is a religion..not a race...i may be wrong...i don't know...

when a person says..."Oh I'm Jewish"....what exactly is it SUPPOSED to me.......

He comes out every few days to eat, but spends most of his time still in his hide. It seems to have started at the beginning of the summer (up here in Toronto, Canada). When he does come out to eat, he'll eat about 15 superworms. As well as a bunch of greens. Please advise. Thanks!!

My husband is deployed and our anniversary is coming up soon. We can't be together so I need some ideas on how to make it special even though we are apart. Hi. My cat had to have 1/2 of his tail amputated today because it was injured very badly. Otherwise, he is fine. The vet gave us a cone for his head so that he can't chew on his bandage. He freaks out with the cone on. He thrashes around and paws at the cone. I called the vet. They feel that he will try to chew on the bandage when he comes out of the drugs tonight. He hasn't chewed on it yet, and he didn't even lick the wound prior to the amputation. He is 7 years old.

Any ideas for helping him get used to the cone? Do you think he really needs to wear it while we are asleep? Has anyone had any experience with this with their animals???
