He comes out every few days to eat, but spends most of his time still in his hide. It seems to have started at the beginning of the summer (up here in Toronto, Canada). When he does come out to eat, he'll eat about 15 superworms. As well as a bunch of greens. Please advise. Thanks!!

Does he have a basking temperature of about 95-100F? Is his UVB source changes every 6 months? His appetite sounds good, so maybe there is another husbandry issue. Make sure he is not on loose substrate, such as sand. Weekly soaking to aid in hydration is also very important.

Try letting him out to fly around the neighborhood for a few hours, most dragons need a daily fly to make sure their wings stay strong. Also, make sure his fire breath is at least 3000 degrees F, any cooler than this and he may have a hormonal imbalance that can lead to an early death. You may be better off contacting a qualified veterinarian if he continues acting like this.

Your lizard might be scared maybe loud noises or a new environment it is probably eating so much so it won't have to come out. just spend some time with it start slowly at first then spend more and more time with it.

is his basking temp about 90-100 F. ? (ive heard 100-105 also) maybe he got impaction from a sand substrate. do you gutload his crickets with calcium? also, superworms are not very nutritional, silkworms tend to be the best, along with crickets. take your beardie to the vet, maybe he has parasites. good luck! :)

If your temperatures are even close to 80-90 degress F then you have a problem. Check for parasites.
