Frequently I see "lol" used as as sort of point of emphasis to something that is either funny, not funny (but seemingly intended to be funny), and used even when the answer or comment is supposed to be serious. I would like to take a poll to see if perhaps "lol" could be changed to something else. Are there any suggestions? How about "llah" (laughing like a hyena)?

Are steering wheel covers dangerous, I flicked through the tv channels last night and briefly heard that they are dangerous.
I asked my friend about it he said fluffy ones can be dangerous - because if you need to swerve suddenly you may miss grip the cover.
But isn't that the same as wearing gloves that aren't leather ?
I really want a steering wheel cover, should I get a purple rubber one instead ?

the people who work in the mcdonalds near where i live pretend they dont understand u if u ask for a cheeseburger!
u have to say McCheeseburger or they ignore u

me and my mates (about 12 of us) went in there a while ago and ordered a HUGE meal thing, they came to our table turned around and said oops wrong table and threw it in the bin i mean WTF THEY ARE SOOOOOOOO RUDE!

no one is begging for money every wedding i have gone to has had it, and its only 1 dollar, and it is the bride and grooms wedding if you dont like how the wedding is going then just leave, i was online getting tips for my wedding and i just got sick of everyone stating what is right and wrong, it is the bride and groom's day they can do what ever they want unless you are planning a traditonal wedding, im sure ill get a lot of negative comments on this subject, also most of the people that are there should be there to help celebrate the most important day of your life, not to get free food and booze and to judge what is tacky in your jugmental mind.

I hired these film makers to assist me in my making a short film.

The first day they were late. An hour late.
I e-mail them and I don't get a response. Or, very little.
I was promised an edited 1st draft of my film yesterday and they never e-mailed it to me. They didn't even e-mail me to say why they are not ready.

I email them suggestions with no response.

I am never working with these people again! Is this total lack of respect and professionalism on their part?

All of my Taiwanese friends stress that Taiwan is an independent sovereign nation, and that its official name is "Republic of China." However, I am having a hard time finding the legal reference whereby the territorial sovereignty of Taiwan was transferred to the Republic of China.

In 1895, the Qing Dynasty transferred the territorial sovereignty of Taiwan to Japan. After 1895, Japan exercised sovereignty over Taiwan and held title to Taiwan territory.

However, in the San Francisco Peace Treaty (SFPT) after WWII, it appears that Japan renounced all rights and claims to Taiwan, but no recipient was specified !!!

If anyone can provide the name of the treaty (and the Article number therein) which transferred the territorial sovereignty of Taiwan to China, I would be grateful.

I visited the library for several hours but the reference librarian there was also unable to locate this information for me.

An auto dealership called and asked to speak to our 11 year old child. We explained to them this was a minor and they told us that a person called inquiring about a price and left our child's info. I know it wasn't us because at the time of the call we were all together and away from home. It makes me worried someone may be trying to steal our child's information.
