Women and boys should not answer this type of question..
No, the woman wanting sex is not something that would make us angry. However if you make it known that you want sex, and then pout about it when we happen to turn you down (Sorry contrary to general myth that guys want it all the time, there are times when we just don't feel like it. Not all guys are still 18 and get hard when the wind blows just right.) then yea were going to get angry. Think about how many times men have been turned down for sex, we don't get angry (ok some boys do get angry but they are only boys), we just know you don't feel like it and will try again later. When it's right for both of you it will happen, don't try to force it.
Now if your looking for ways to get him turned on the one poster that suggested a stealthy method had a great idea. Think about what does your man do to get you turned on? Probably tries a massage to get you relaxed, maybe an "innocent" touch in places in the process. Or maybe he just talks about sex, and his fantasies and stuff that allow you to picture him doing it to you. This type of stuff does work in reverse, don't be so shy, be naughty. Act naughty and let him know you think it's dirty, don't be afraid to tell him your fantasies and turn red while doing it.

Dammit! I'm so puzzled I don't know if I should rant, insult, go nuts or try to think of a good answer.
Ok, just give him a nice massage.
Or put your fingers through his hair from the back, do it slow.
Just kiss him in his neck, slow and gentle.
After a while, when you notice he's wanting you to continue, you can slowly, very slowly, turn it up a notch,
With a bit of effort you could end up having wild monkey sex.
So, don't ask, just cuddle and stealthly turn it into sex.
If it doesn't work, bite of his nads cause he won't be needing em anyway. Oh, and give me a call *winkwink* :P
Goodluck waking up your boyfriend.
ps: Don't have sex for a week and ask him again then.

No, that isn't common/typical.
Talk to him about this...perhaps counseling is in order. Couples are supposed to desire a certain amount of intimacy and if one party's sex drive is much different than the other, it will begin to affect all aspects of their relationship.
Address this issue and get it solved, or it will likely bring your marriage down some day.

Maybe shocked, but no it would be a pleasant surprise for a change if my wife initiated something.
Maybe ask him why he's not interested in participating in intimacy with you?

This is not a stupid question. It happens. Something is VERY WRONG. Get counseling now, or get out before your self-esteem is completely destroyed.

Move on, tell him you fancy sex with someone else if he is so put out, Then watch him.
He needs to lighten up or you need to find someone new.

I believe you seriously need to reconsider your relationship with this person*... I would welcome the invitation from you and not resent or get angry about you approaching me for sex*...
