the cylon fleet is BIG...5 microns away would be too puny a distance to mention closing...also...the cylon fleet is on an open ended mission...there will never be closure with the cylon fleet...in our lifetime...

I guess that the micron-meter on the galactica musta been on the blink. Or Adama had a bet with Starbuck that he could keep his nerve up to one micron. Or Adama lacks confidence in his crews abliity to target long range objects with their weapons system.-LOL,Rogue

To make sense the distace count is wrong. It should have been in miles or kilometres or nautical miles. A Micron is too small, almost a fraction of a metre.
