If you doing a total body workout...then probably you are at the gym for 2 or 3 hours. Muscle needs to rest before you can work it again. I would say wait 2 to 3 days in between workout sessions.

Cardio should be done every day or at least 5-6 days a week. Weight training should be broken up into upper body one day and lower body the next.

Go ahead and work out everyday just alternate leg, arms, concentrate on arms one day and legs the next. Be sure to have some sort of protein in the morning in either a shake or egg's-meat etc. this will give your muscles food to feed on.Good Luck.

You will want to have at least 1 days rest between extensive workouts so you don't strain your muscles.
