"No man is my enemy."

We battle not against flesh and blood but against the powers and principalities that rule in heavenly places.

Do we as christians see that we are no better than the next guy? If you cling to the Word of God have you not seen that you are the good guy and the evil guy in scripture? Do you not see that you (I) who judge is no better ? But it is by faith you have been saved and not by what you have done but by the mercy of God He saved us. It is not by your (my) merit but by His pure undeserved grace and mercy. My heart aches for my fellow Christians who cannot rightly divide Law and Gospel.......and fall into all kinds of pride and self righteousness (I include myself)...who could be saved?.....good thing we have Christ's blood.
All men are liars.....only God is true.

Atom,
There is nothing you can do to be saved. It is by His undeserved grace and mercy that does this.

Mark 101112 you have missed my question entirely

dear Atom,
You have yet to hear pure Gospel......
It is already done........no work on your part!
The works come not from compulsion but are the fruits of believing what Christ has done and that it is enough!
You have no power as a man to get yourself any closer to God......
His kingdom come His will be done.....may you have ears to hear the pure Gospel.......It is blasphemous for you to think that you have anything to do with your salvation

True....

"PREACH THE WORD, in season and out...reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and doctrine; for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine...but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers telling them what they WANT to hear...." (2Tim.4:2)

edited: Blasphemous? Ha! Aren't you just a repeat of history! So, which one are you most striving to be like? A Pharisee? Or a Sadducee? Either way, they called Jesus a blaspheme too... Next time you respond, try to use a little reasoning with me, not just repeating the same Christian garbage to me over and over again.

***edited below***Who said this? The natural man indeed does battle against the powers and principalities that rule in heavenly places, until the day comes that he can conform to them, and better yet desire to be obedient to them. For there is where he will find the greatest joy and progression for his own soul. And at that point, the man has shed his natural shell and becomes a Saint.

But I am not a Christian as the "Christians" define themselves. I am a Latter-day Saint, so maybe my opinion doesn't count...

The thing about the powers and principalities of heavenly places, is that man is completely ignorant of them! In truth, no "Christian" would have the foggiest idea of them, since they are not the Lord's, despite their lips do honoring him. But they preach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but denying the Power thereof.

What power? The priesthood! The very thing that drives the powers and principalities of heavenly places. And if a man has lived his life on earth, completely ignorant of the principles of the priesthood, since "such things have been done away among man today" (as the Christians declare), how then shall a man expect to know anything about the heavens?

And how can you expect any Christian to answer your question?

Katy, all of us are already saved. When someone needs saving, that obviously means there is nothing they can do of themselves to be saved, be it from physical death or hanging on to a cliff and needing someone to throw them a rope!

The resurrection of Jesus saved us all!

But that is only half of it. In order to be redeemed, it takes effort on our part. Be reasonable, here. When someone gives you a gift certificate, it means nothing to you unless you go and redeem it. That takes work for us to do. If we do not do it, then we are not redeemed. Saved, yes. But not redeemed.

Remember, Jesus is the Savior AND Redeemer. Not just our Savior. These titles are NOT the same thing. Two titles, that indicate two specific things. Physical death and Spiritual death. One is free. One is not.

Jesus died for sinners and the repentant. But he suffered in the Garden for only the repentant.

As one friend said, everything is spiritual.

Another friend, years ago, started a lunch-time Bible study at work. His boss said he had to stop it, but my friend said that this was on lunch time and thus was not on company time. His boss approache him again - this time he got sick. After he got better, he tried to stop him again - he had a massive heart attack. He came to my friend again and told him that he could have a Bible study there anytime and that God is too big to tangle with.

My friend could have seen this as a personal challenge, but chose to stand his ground and be kind and patient with his supervisor. God got that guys attention. The man was not the problem, but the spirit was. Since the man was acting on his spiritual belief (or lack thereof), and his spirit refused to listen to what God was doing, God used the physical to get that guys attention, which affected the spiritual.

That Bible study grew, by the way.

We cannot take peoples challenges against our faith personally. We must let God take care of things. Yes, we stand our ground, obey the law and also use the law to our advantage. But, God takes care of what we cannot touch - the spiritual. This also, incidentally, lines up with the scripture that says vengeance belongs to the Lord.

So, when your enemy rises up against you - pray. Seek the Lord as to what He would want you to do and then let Him handle the rest.

There are three heavens: The one where God has His throne, outer space, and the atmosphere where we live.
That Scripture is speaking about the demonic powers in our atmosphere.

I think that we are spirit beings ..... just because we have a physical body does not make us less spiritual..... and Satan is still trying to deceive us and make us think God is wrong and doesn't love us.

Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13).

I think you are engaging in "Isogesis", which is to isolate one passage and interpret it without balancing against the rest of the scriptures. Consider Matthew 12:34: "You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks."

I think that it means our battles are within our self and temptations. Not fellow man, that's' not who we should be fighting.

IT... IS... NOT... TRUE!

(1John 2:19) They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

AND....
(1Timothy 1:20) Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.

AND......

(Jude 1:10-11-12) But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.

(Jud 1:11) Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.

(Jud 1:12) These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

AND......

(2Timothy 3:2-to-8) For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

(2Ti 3:3) Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

(2Ti 3:4) Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

(2Ti 3:5) Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

(2Ti 3:6) For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

(2Ti 3:7) Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

(2Ti 3:8) Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

AND......

(Jude 1:3-4) Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

(Jud 1:4) For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

PERHAPS... DO YOU NEED....MORE?

Thanks, RR
