There is a word 'belabour' in English which means to beat soundly, to assail verbally or to argue about or discuss at excessive length which could fit your description.If you are in USA it may be spelled in American English (very quaint) as 'belabor' . The word originates from labour (hard work) or as Americans say 'labor'. It is pronounced 'bee-labour' (bee - labor)
