I'm throwing a baby shower in a week, and I need ideas for food. The shower will be from 4-6, so I'm having a hard time deciding on what type of food to prepare. The theme for the shower is "A star is born," (a hollywood/celebrity spin) so if anyone has food ideas that go along with this theme then that would be great!! :o) Also, if anyone has ideas on decorations then that would also be wonderful!

Thank you all sooooo much!

1. Friendly and mannerly people
For me: Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Wyoming
No-nos for me: Kentucky, Ohio, California, Florida, Alabama

2. Reserved but genteel and giving people
For me: Mississippi, Louisiana (cajun country), N. Carolina

3. Consistently nice, comfortable weather
For me: Hmmm...my pick would be California, although I have no desire to live there long-term. So, parts of Texas and the deep South have hot summers but mild winters. I'll go with that.

4. Urban living (i.e. the "fast paced" life)
For me: Texas, New York, Washington st., Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina

5. Rural living (i.e. the "simple" life)
For me: Texas, the Rockies, Pacific NW, or Southeast. (Take your pick.)

6. Which state would you like to spend the rest of your life?
For me: Texas!

Hey, I've been experimenting with becoming a vegetarian by going prolonged periods of time without meat, and I was wondering, do any of you ever eat meat on special occasions? A few weeks ago, my brother worked his *** off making a meal (some kind of chicken) for the rest of us, and I felt reluctant to eat it. I ended up eating it, but I felt bad later on. I started wondering if I would ever be in a situation where I'm served meat by someone who doesn't know I'm a vegetarian and have to tell them that I can't eat it. I would certainly hate to come off as rude. What are all your opinions on this? Thank you.

hello..thanks for any advise.
I have a pack of mcCormick Bag'nSeason pot roast seasoning blend.
Comes with the blend, comes with the bag, but I am actually thinking about just pouring this seasoning blend into the crock pot with about 1/4 cup water and veggies. Problem is the expiration date on it is January '06...about a year and a half over.
Would you use it?
The bag is not ripped or anything, so the contents hasnt had air.
I want to put a roast onto cook, but have no dressing mix to season it...didnt want to run all the way to the grocery store.
thanks for your answers.

About 10 years ago my husband and I had a friend over. We were all in the bedroom just hanging out. He was on the computer, she was on the bed reading the newspaper and I was sitting nearby.

I left to go to the store for something for about 25 minutes. When I came back the door was closed and the sheets had been pulled off the bed. Each was still doing what they were doing before. When I asked my husband, he said a drink had spilled on the bed so they pulled the sheets and washed them. I don't remember checking the washer.

Anyway, years later they both deny anything happened and I was just over reacting.. I trust my dear friend and we've all been friends. We are going to her wedding this weekend. But was I wrong to even think that it could easily LOOK LIKE SOMETHING was going on?
