hello..thanks for any advise.
I have a pack of mcCormick Bag'nSeason pot roast seasoning blend.
Comes with the blend, comes with the bag, but I am actually thinking about just pouring this seasoning blend into the crock pot with about 1/4 cup water and veggies. Problem is the expiration date on it is January '06...about a year and a half over.
Would you use it?
The bag is not ripped or anything, so the contents hasnt had air.
I want to put a roast onto cook, but have no dressing mix to season it...didnt want to run all the way to the grocery store.
thanks for your answers.

It's fine, just won't be as strong a flavor.

Having worked in pharmaceutical industry an knowing what expiration dates mean, I would use it. it might not have as strong a taste as it once did, but it will still be effective. Drugs have expiration dates set on them based on degradation of the compounds in the dosage(pill tablet, liquid) once that shows a percentage of degradation, very small, it losses its effectiveness. it is no longer 100%, it is more like 90-99% but it cannot stand up to its label claim of 100% and it must be identified as expired. but much like Homer, I will take expired meds, just might up the dosage. Hope that helps, if not, you can always just add more salt and pepper.
