Cute story.

I have had a couple of visitors from the UK here for a few days. Yesterday Romy jokingly said, 'how dare you celebrate your independence from us. You people didn't fight fair. You wore regular clothes and hid out in trees while we wore red coats with big hats and marched in a straight line.'

I loved it coming from a Brit.

I have just been approached by a good friend of mine who farms sheep for wool, he has around 350 - 400 at any one time. he was recently accosted, quite violently, by two persons stating they were vegans, and that sheep should not be used in this way.

As the wool is clipped during the hot weather to prevent the animal from dying from heatstroke, why can't the waste material be used?

Or shall we let them die?

We'd all be the same religion. Just a question to ponder.

(I'm not at all for that by the way, I'm happy with my own religion)

My cat Sam is a completely different cat now that she's had her first litter of kittens. (about 5 weeks ago) She hasnt gone to the bathroom the same since, but about a week ago she would purposely pee in her litter box and then step outside and poop. We just moved into a new apartment and it is wreaking havoc on out carpet. We thought maybe she just wanted more attention or something, we tried spending more time with her and petting her, she just seems completely pissed off and doesnt even want to be around us. Were at the point where we dont know what to do with her... She isnt a good companion anymore and if she's not happy here what are we supposed to do? I'm just so confused. If anyone has any answers that might pertain to the bathroom problems, PLEASE RESPOND! I need to know if it's medical or if she's doing it for other reasons.

Yesterday I found myself in a rage against Scientology. Then I started to think about where I should direct my thoughts. It's easy to say "the church" itself, but as the church is mostly made up of individuals who have been brainwashed, then what?

So I assume the absolute leaders of this cult can without doubt bear the brunt of my venom. But what about the individual centres in each city? Do the higher level people realise what they're doing? Are they too brainwashed to have real responsibility? I do wonder if, when first being indoctrinated, the majority of people have a moment when they willingly abandon their instinct or common sense. Perhaps that split second of mental capitulation is the answer.....

What do you guys think? When does the victim become the bad guy?

I remember enormous wedges of watermelon that we had to eat on the porch, because we made such a mess.

Sparkers remain my favorite, because they were the first fireworks I was big enough to hold myself.

It is a creeping weed that looks like a jade with fairly thick stems. The stems are kinda flesh colored/pinkish. It covers ground really fast and is the bane of my garden.

She is 18 so it's not like there's anything illegal about it, but I almost wish there were.

She's only smoked one pack, she said, and I believe her on that. But I also believe that she is underestimating the importance of this decision. She says I'm over-reacting, that it's just one pack. But there is still a lot of toxic stuff in that single pack.

Her grandfather almost died due to smoking-related causes, and she is a very good biology student, so she definitely knows all of the crap that smoking can cause.

She smells terrible and looks stupid when she smokes, and no one wants to hang around her. But she says that she just wanted to try it, and that it's not about peer pressure or looking cool, just about trying the forbidden fruit.

How can I convince her that this fruit is "forbidden" for a reason? She is otherwise very mature, and I want to treat her like an adult, but it is so frustrating to think that she might die from being too stubborn to stop smoking!

I understand the vast majority of Muslims are peace loving people yet we never hear from these "peaceful" mosques decrying violence. The news is filled with their radical counterparts calling for world domination by any means necessary. This morning's Yahoo news item says many in this Pakistani mosque only want martyrdom.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070704/ap_on_re_as/pakistan_radical_mosque;_ylt=AtN70JFPKtEVOZJkMrgsaY0UewgF

Will the peace-loving Muslims roll over and submit to the radical ideologies when they're knocking at their doorstep?

Is there, in fact, a discord of said ideologies? If so, should the majority not make an effort to subdue this radical element?
Thanks.
