Europe unites in hatred of French
By Henry Samuel in Paris
Last Updated: 12:44am BST 17/05/2005

Language, history, cooking and support for rival football teams still divide Europe. But when everything else fails, one glue binds the continent together: hatred of the French.

Typically, the French refuse to accept what arrogant, overbearing monsters they are.

But now after the publication of a survey of their neighbours' opinions of them at least they no longer have any excuse for not knowing how unpopular they are.

Why the French are the worst company on the planet, a wry take on France by two of its citizens, dredges up all the usual evidence against them. They are crazy drivers, strangers to customer service, obsessed by sex and food and devoid of a sense of humour.

But it doesn't stop there, boasting a breakdown, nation by nation, of what in the French irritates them.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Britons described them as "chauvinists, stubborn, nannied and humourless". However, the French may be more shocked by the views of other nations.

For the Germans, the French are "pretentious, offhand and frivolous". The Dutch describe them as "agitated, talkative and shallow." The Spanish see them as "cold, distant, vain and impolite" and the Portuguese as "preaching". In Italy they comes across as "snobs, arrogant, flesh-loving, righteous and self-obsessed" and the Greeks find them "not very with it, egocentric bons vivants".

Interestingly, the Swedes consider them "disobedient, immoral, disorganised, neo-colonialist and dirty".

But the knockout punch to French pride came in the way the poll was conducted. People were not asked what they hated in the French, just what they thought of them.

"Interviewees were simply asked an open question - what five adjectives sum up the French," said Olivier Clodong, one of the study's two authors and a professor of social and political communication at the Ecole Superieur de Commerce, in Paris. "The answers were overwhelmingly negative."

According to Mr Clodong, the old adage that France is wonderful, it's just the French who are the problem, is shared across Europe.

"We are admired for our trains, the Airbus and Michelin tyres. But the buck stops there," he said.

Another section of the study deals with how the French see the rest of Europe.

"Believe it or not, the English and the French use almost exactly the same adjectives to describe each other - bar the word 'insular'," Mr Coldong said. "So the feelings are mutual."

I have a hibiscus tree and when the flower blooms fall off the seed pods that are left dry and become brown. Should I plant them now and keep the tree inside during the winter so it will grow enough to plant next summer? Or should I wait until after the frost next spring?

Why do so many U.S. riders or self proclaimed "bikers" shave their head? They look like newly circumsised *****. Are they so lazy as to not want to comb hair? Do they think this is a machismo look? Do they realize that they have no identity? I suggest they grow some hair on their head and elswhere.

Can fox news explain why it is not a news organization .http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1UPaOZshG0
This might be a little old but I just found it so maybe you all have missed it also .
Interesting how news is twisted by the stations and networks .

Makes you wonder if credible proof of 9-11 conspiracy would even make the news except as a piece on crazy people .

So right now, almost everywhere I go to, there's something that pops up and says "Click to run an Active-X control on this web page". I have to do that everytime just about.

And I noticed some of the web sites I go on, like here for example, some parts are missing. Like on myspace, where the music player is suppose to be, it says

"Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. Click here to get the latest flash player."

I clicked the link and it says I have the latest version of Java, and I can't download Macromedia because nothing pops up for me to install. My dad says I have the latest version, I think.
And also I can't click on some links.

The myspace music players were working not too long ago.

*****And I can't read my yahoo email for some reason. The whole page is fine, except for the message- which is completely blank. So I cant see what people wrote.

And I dont see a link to answer questions.

I have Internet Explorer 7.0 but I had problems before I go it. It's been around 2 weeks since I got these problems.

I cannot seem to solve this problem for my life. To begin, is this an interference problem or double-slit problem? Anyway.. more importantly is the procedure to get the answer. Here'e the question:

Two line sources transmit microwaves of wavelength 3 cm in phase. How far apart should they be in order to produce a 10 degree angular seperation between the first and second order bright fringes on one side of the central peak?

Thanks a bunch if you took the time to answer!

The problem is-

A car leaves San Fransisco heading towards Denver going at the constant speed of 50 miles per hour. Another car leaves Denver heading towards San Fransisco an hour later, but going at a constant speed of 60 miles per hour. When the two cars meet, which car is closer to Denver?

Its a trick question in real life, but if you wanted to solve it, could you? If so, how?

There was a statue of Jesus made in one of the visitor centers in Utah. It is said that his arms were made to be praising God, but they slowily started to move down until they look like they hang to his waist (as if to welcome his sheep or the lost).

I can walk 5 miles a day easily.. my legs may start to cramp toward the end of my walk. I wan to to start jogging/running. I have never really been a jogger/runner.
The past couple of days I started off jogging 1/2 a mile. I would be gasping for air/feeling sick/hot by the time I completed half mile. I would rest & then get my second wind feeling like I could continue to run but always go for the walk.
What can I do to build my endurance for jogging/running? What can I do to stop the shortness of breath/etc? Will I be able to jog without feeling that way?
I really would love to jog 1-2 miles a day instead of walking....
Please help me. If you have a training program or know of one let me know.
Thanks :)

This has to be a joke that some one made up speculating the "truth" behind scientology. No man in their right mind could belive an evil space lord froze alien creatures and placed them on earth and we are all vessels carrying the souls of said creatures. If scientologists really belive that I want to stand up and proudly state that you are the most brain washed idiots this country has yet to see and you really should seek professional help.
