I have a belkin router and Vista on my desktop computer, problem is when i go from modem to router to desktop?

i cannot connect to my verizon account. when i go straight from modem to desktop it connects fine. its like its got a blok somewhere and wont connect to the internet therefore even though my laptop show a wireless network, i still can connect to internet!! help please!!!!!!

You need to setup your router to connect to your ISP through the modem.

Here are the physical connections:
-telephone line to modem
-ethernet from modem to the WAN (Internet) port.

Now you will have to log into the routers configuration settings and set the internet connection to PPPOE and input the username and password you use to connect to your ISP.
