Occasionally I have fun with them. I'll ask with a fake southern accent what kind of pants they're wearing or where are they calling from because I wanna meet them, breathing heavily with each sentence. It works well if you want to get rid of them.

That's what caller ID is for. I'm astonished that between Caller ID and the "Don't Call" List, that they can make a living anymore. Maybe it eliminated the hang-ups.

My mother did consumer research surveys from the time that I was an infant until long after I had graduated from high school.

I did it myself when I was in high school.

We had a saying at our hosue: "One per cent of the people would say 'No" to God."

I've reached that one per cent.

No I don't have time to do the surveys when telemarketers call.

I've been doing the radio surveys from the research group. It's fun to be a part of the songs they'll play (or stop overplaying) on the radio! :o)

No I always lie and say I have guests over or my dog is having a heart attack or I have to get the door or just hang up on them

Yeah right... I'm not about to go bankrupt. I hang up on them.
One of those people called me a liar once, when I told them the person they were looking for was unavailable. I am still mad... let her call my house again...

No. Never. I just had one of those calls last night.
My husband answers some, though. I keep suggesting to him that it isn't a good idea. But..he doesn't listen.

The surveys I don't really have a problem with (otherwise why would I be in P&S? lol)

It's when they are actually trying to sell something that I get ticked.

Well they usually think I'm my father, so I say, no let me get him. And then just set the phone down and go watch tv.
