This has to be a joke that some one made up speculating the "truth" behind scientology. No man in their right mind could belive an evil space lord froze alien creatures and placed them on earth and we are all vessels carrying the souls of said creatures. If scientologists really belive that I want to stand up and proudly state that you are the most brain washed idiots this country has yet to see and you really should seek professional help.

South park is one of the few places i heard about what they really belive, and while watching this i hoped above everything that they were making it up. I researched some stuff online, and decided to ask here in the slim hopes that these people are more level headed then this. And that report would be wonderful if you can find it. Karl1569@yahoo.com is my email.

Yes. Yes they REALLY do. But don't insult them... they've been brainwashed, and it was probably for the most part due to innocent curiosity. They most likely began looking into the organization and inadvertently got sucked in by it's mind control techniques:

Scientology, which questionably calls itself a new "religion", is the brainchild of science fiction writer & occult enthusiast L. Ron Hubbard. The organization, by means of Hubbard’s self created psychotherapy technique called “Dianetics”, claims to be able to help rid members of any & all mental constraints including but not limited to emotional scarring (from this & "past" lives) due to "engrams" (past negative experiences stored in our unconscious mind), psychological disorders & chemical imbalances (the solution is to convince members that these things don't actually exist) & drug dependence (including legally prescribed psychopharmaceuticals which counteract the effects of psychological disorders Scientologists believe to be nonexistent).

The official Scientology organization is composed of a number of “levels”. One begins as a “preclear” & works their way up. One must purchase virtually every service crucial to advancement directly from the "church" & at staggering prices. "Auditing", for example, is purchased in 12½ hour blocks, costing anywhere from $750 for introductory sessions to between $8,000 & $9,000 for advanced sessions. Visit this link to see how $380,000 is a conservative estimate for the total cost of moving all the way up the Scientology hierarchal ladder: http://www.xenu.net/archive/prices.html
These are the total costs for auditing alone: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology_as_a_business#Costs
Here’s an explanation of what “auditing” is: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061224182319AA2nnd6

At level OT III (Operating Thetan 3), some very strange & fiercely guarded secrets are imparted upon worthy members who have paid enough money to advance to such a level (and no, this isn't a joke): The evil alien ruler Xenu killed millions of aliens (Thetans) from around the universe by kidnapping them, bringing them to earth in golden DC-8 “space-planes”, stacking them around volcanoes & blowing them up by dropping “h-bombs” into the volcanoes. Scientologists believe the souls of these aliens (these souls are "Body Thetans") were captured, brainwashed & released; they then attached themselves to our ancestors (and according to Scientology’s belief in Thetan immortality, they also attached to us during “past lives”) & cause many of our mental & physical ills to this day. Auditing is said to “clear” us of these Body Thetans as well as the “mental implants” they supposedly impose on our minds.

Scientology has taken a very hostile stance towards psychiatry & psychiatric drugs irrespective of the fact that some people require medication to remain adequately functional during everyday life. They don’t recognize legitimate conditions like autism, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, etc, and the “church” has been known to withhold prescription pharmaceuticals from members (often with harmful & deadly results). Suspiciously, it was discovered upon Hubbard’s death that the anti-anxiety drug hydroxyzine (Vistaril™) was present in his body, which several of his assistants would later attest was only one of many psychiatric & pain medications Hubbard ingested over the years.

To be blunt, Scientology is a cult. It employs semi-legitimate psychotherapy & self-help methods to keep people loyal & convinced of its merit while it simultaneously sucks them dry financially & attempts to keep them far away from ANYONE, even friends & family, who would dissuade them from remaining in such a harmful situation. It’s a particularly greedy as well as manipulative & dangerous cult that takes its anti-psychiatry fanaticism to deadly limits. See these links for more information: http://www.lisamcpherson.org/

nope. it's the truth.

however, not all scientologists believe this. how, you ask? well, it's because you have to be a member of the church for 15-20 years before they will reveal the "truth" to you. so many scientology members don't even really know what it is that their church believes.

we have this information now because of the flux of people leaving the church when they discover this. in fact, 92% of people who leave the church do so after 15-20 years when they discover the "truth"

and yes, they are brainwashed. but sadly, the scientologists use REALLY good techniques. they prey on people with low-self esteem, they focus on your negative qualities and pretty much flat-out deny that you have any positive ones.

i did a report on this once, that i described in another answer. i'll see if i can find it for you.

From what I understand of the Scientologists I know, most don't consider it a religion and more of a way of life. Sure, some might believe in some of the far-fetched Zenu stuff but it's more the principles that people follow. There are many benefits of Scientology that are preached in self-help books and in many religions. (ie. inner peace etc...)

I'm a Scientologist and all I know about Xenu is what I saw in S. Park. Just a Sunday morning cartoon, funny. Now if you wanna know what is Scientology about. Just let me know and I will point you in the right direction.

They are almost as crazy as those who believe the invisible sky fairy died for their sins 2000 years ago and they'll get to meet him after they die, aren't they?

The only difference between Scientology and most other religions is the others are older.

Happily this is NOT what Scientology is about, so you don't need to stand up and make your proud statements and give your advice. Unless, of course ,you feel compelled to do this regardless ?
You're right this is just popular speculation from collaborative internet sites and deliberate misinformation that seems to be preferred to any facts about what Scientology actually is about, particularly on this forum.

That seems to be the case.

And Heaven's Gate all killed themselves so that they could catch a ride on a UFO in the tail of the Hale-Bopp comet. What is more unbelievable in Scientology?

yes they do, its a cult that brain washes its victims and rich actors and other people join it to be cool and pay a hefty amount to help brainwash the normal person. Just watch the episode of South Park about it, you can actually learn alot from that show.

I agree. On South Park, they made fun of the "religion" by explaining what it was, (Seriously, that's all they had to do to make fun of it), and on the bottom of the screen in big white letters they actually had to put "THIS IS WHAT SCIENTOLOGISTS ACTUALLY BELIEVE"... Omg! LMAO!!

Yes they are brainwashed. Anyone who believes this kind of stupid story must be mentally ill and touched by satan.
Wake up and accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your saviour before it's too late. No more silly stories.
