My dog, a labrador-ish thing, goes absolutely nuts when I start playing the piano. He howls as if it he was being tortured horribly. However, when I play a recording of a piano, he does not react.

Can anyone offer an explanation for this? I'm mystified.

We bought a nice motorhome and tried to sell our house. It's a tough housing market and home did not sell after a year. We just sold our motor home and the house is now off the market.
Still hoping for a chance to own another motor home and travel in it - will there be a chance again to do this?

For example, The creationists feel that their answer is simpler than the answers provided by scientists, either side here could invoke Occam's Razor. How is this paradox resolved? Does it rely on opinions of what simplest means, or is there a subjective way to define simplest?

This i more of a philosophy question but that section is lame.

My friend sends me like 10 religious emails a day since she "found God". Incidentally I have already recieved these same ones over the years. so I asked her this:
"Just a curious question because I do not talk about religion with many people but Would you totally freak out if I told you that I was Atheist?"

Not sure if I was plain enough because here is what was sent back
"I would not freak out, I still love you and will always love you. God gives you that choice "
and then she sent me another "inspirational" message
Do I have to be mean and ask her to remove me or just keep on quietly deleting?
thanks for all your answers

I'm looking into a woman named Carrie Woods, who I think may be Carrie W. Harris. (I believe Woods may be her maiden name thanks to someone here) she'd be born in Ohio around 1865, and she had a son Hubert (Harris) there in about 1888. She had other children but they were born in Ny and Canada. I'm trying primary to find out about her family, but I haven't been able to find anythin :( Can anyone see if they can find anything for me?

She was probably married by 1880-2. Her husband has been listed as James ,James Oscar, and Oscar Harris of Sandy Creek, Oswego, New York. Some of there children were Kenerson, Hattie/Harriett, Hubert, Arthur, Frances, William/Willis, Ora, Harry. More information forthcoming so please check back! I've been having a particularly hard time with this family, but people in yahoo answers have been so much help to me. States associated with this family (and provinces..) are Ontario, New York (Erie and Oswego counties), Vermont and Ohio. Any help or thoughts?!

In reference to rampant racial prejudice about one century ago, W.E.B. Du Bois prophetically and insightfully, stated that, "Either the USA will destroy ignorance, or ignorance will destroy the USA". Over the course of the next century, which one, in your opinion, will triumph? How do you know?

It is a painting of an African painting. It has a woman on it and it looks like she's from the 70's. It's pretty modern. And it has a bunch of music notes surounding her.

So, I am a part of a Disney themed dance performance, and we are able to have access to the stage's flying system. For the beginning of the show, we wanted to do something with Tinkerbell and the flying, but wanted to make it funny and unexpected. Any ideas? Thanks!

I find it interesting--that despite this latest defeat--Bush still thinks that amnesty for illegal immigrants is "the top of many Americans' minds"--as he puts it.

I personally believe that this is just another example of a waning 'lame duck' administration--whose twilight days have come and gone.

The car idles very low, and sometimes stalls. When it accelerates, it'll randomly hesitate and then speed up again. The car has 90,000 miles. Does this sound like a fuel pump issue, or something else?

I need to have my deteriorated fiberboard siding replaced - but my existing soffit and fascia is newly painted and is in fine shape. My contractor says that new siding without new soffit & fascia will not look good.

Will installing new vinyl siding without installing new soffit, fasica and window wrap look and perform ok?
