In reference to rampant racial prejudice about one century ago, W.E.B. Du Bois prophetically and insightfully, stated that, "Either the USA will destroy ignorance, or ignorance will destroy the USA". Over the course of the next century, which one, in your opinion, will triumph? How do you know?

In my opinion, the latter. George Bush became president the first time by chicanery (our ignorance of the manipulation of voting machines) and the second time possibly by election (the country's unwillingness to face facts). In the meantime, our educational system continues to spiral downward, partly because of the No Child Left Behind program. The ironic counterpart of this is seldom articulated: Few Children Move Forward.

USA will destroy ignorance. I know because I have felt the impact even in my own reaches for understanding, I'm making progress and I don't think I'm alone.
