My internet has started going slow, it takes a while to load up basic pages and can take ages to load some things.

It happened last month too and when i scanned with adaware and McAfee it seemed to fix the problem. When I try that this time it doesnt work (i have also tryed spybot too). The only thing I can think of is that the computer has picked up some sort of virus from a file I have downloaded (I use mininova to download some TV programs). It runs slow even when I am not downloading anything.

Please can someone suggest a solution? This is really frustrating!!

Thanks....

This question is just for interesting fun It is to me anyway!!! =)

Would like respondents to contain their answers to which and why. We're all capable of research, particularly if informative links are pasted. =)

Personally, the Minoan civilisation was my favourite. They sure as hell weren't flawless and do appear to have been unhealthily female dominated *which was a contributing factor to their demise in my opinion, a perfect civilisation would be totally equal* but were so progressive i think we could learn from them now.

That is a very useful link, go to the home page too, plenty of info on many civilisations.

My son is turning 4 in Aug. He thinks like an older child. Where can I get a free IQ test on line? He knows how to write his alphabets, numbers, and can draw very well. He speaks and understands what us "adults" are saying. He and I can have a conversation about stuff, and I forget he's only 3. Am I just being a proud parent? Or is he gifted?

He has a memory like no other, remembers everything he hears and watches. He can recall anything that he has heard or seen even from months even years back. Surprises the heck out of me when he recalls things from a year or two ago. If he has gone with us some where via car, and then travel there months later, he can tell us where we are going only a quarter of the way there, sometimes sooner depending on our route. Often we take the same route to get to different places for a quarter of the way.

Anyone has simular experiences with their 3/4 year old child? I would love to hear from you. Exchange notes if you will.

here's the poem first:

LONELINESS

A hawk hovers in air.
Two white gulls float on the stream.
Soaring with the wind, it is easy
To drop and seize
Birds who foolishly drift with the current.
Where the dew sparkles in the grass,
The spider's web waits for its prey.
The processes of nature resemble the business of men.
I stand alone with ten thousand sorrows.

What is your explanation for the line:
" The processes of nature resemble the business of men"

To the ones who claim you dont like religion being pushed upon you. Why do you come here where it will be pushed upon you? And if you say it is to push back does that make you a hypocrite and the same as the overzealous christians you chastise?

My cat, occasionally, vomits semi-digested food. Is this a sign that we are feeding her too much? Is this also a sign that she may be bored and eating out of boredom? The latter question sounds too human to be correct but that's why I'm asking. Any advise is appreciated. Thanks!

OK, my husband and I met under very unusual circumstances. And people often ask us"how did you guys meet" (which in my country is considered a very private question but that here in America it seems very common). And for us to explain how we meet we have to explain some stuffs that we don't really want to get into, because it involves children, divorce, a mess. So, we try to simply answer as " in a bar" which is half true. Thing is they push for details and we end up going through the whole story which really annoys me.

So, my question is: how do I dismiss the question when people ask how we met?

Should I simply say " it's a long story we don't want to get into that right now?". I tried that but it seems people get even more curious.

" It's private we don't like to talk about it". Is it rude to say that?

Any suggestions?
