here's the poem first:

LONELINESS

A hawk hovers in air.
Two white gulls float on the stream.
Soaring with the wind, it is easy
To drop and seize
Birds who foolishly drift with the current.
Where the dew sparkles in the grass,
The spider's web waits for its prey.
The processes of nature resemble the business of men.
I stand alone with ten thousand sorrows.

What is your explanation for the line:
" The processes of nature resemble the business of men"

thanks! tc always :D

Think about what each term means, and then what lies on each side of the sentence or phrase; the subject is 'the processes of nature.' The predicate includes 'the business of men.' What do these mean?

A hawk hovering, floating on a thermal movement of air-- this is one process of nature, or more than one: the movement of air, the movement of bird of prey, the activity of hunting. How does this ressemble (look like) the business of men (or of people?) What is the business of people?

Look again-- what is the title of this poem? Loneliness: what does that have to do with the busy-ness of men? And processes of nature?

I am hoping, I am trying, to get you to think for your own self, to stand on your own feet and think independently. You can do it. I have confidence in you!
