I don't think that will be the case with Beck, He never had that steroid look at all. To die at age 38 had to have something to do with a bad heart but not steroid induced. I guess we will all know in a week or two.

I'm sorry to see this happen. I don't know what happened, but would be curious to find out.
He was a great closer for the Giants in early 90s and later with the Cubs.
I don't believe that he had a drug (including steroid) problem. He seemed like a pretty genuine guy.

After his stint with the Sox, while playin out in the mid-west, Beck checked into rehab for about 2-3 weeks ... they dont think that has anything to do with it, but it is still being looked into, knowing his background.

Rod Beck did suffer from drug abuse during his baseball career. Friends are saying he was clean now, but the autopsy will tell us for sure.

They don't know what killed him. They just found him dead in his home.
