It's a Magnavox CRT. I had been watching a DVD for about an hour when I heard a popping sound and the TV shut off. There was a plastic burning smell. The DVD player connected to the same power strip was not affected. Any idea what blew and if it can be repaired? I haven't opened it up yet because it's very heavy and I'll need help moving it.

I've dated a guy for about 2-3 weeks; he seemed rather interested in me (approached me initially and was very enthusiastic). Suddenly he broke off, saying that he was attracted to me, but as time passed, he realized he did not feel physical chemistry between us. I am confused: does he mean he did not find me physically attractive, or something else is the matter?

I am an American who is seeking opinions from citizens of other countries of the world about the United States, negative or positive. I truly appreciate this country, and even though I believe it's a wonderful place to live, I understand it is not perfect.

The vast majority of people have strong opinions regarding the Iraq War and George Bush, usually negative, but fail to research any deeper than what is being published by major news media. In fact, the average USA citizen, in my opinion, takes their rights for granted and lacks the initiative to understand truth.

That is why I chose to ask this question, to inspire opinions from others who have not been influenced by USA media.

P.S. - to anyone who may hate america: on average our citizens are peaceful and comply with a high level of tolerence for one another, however, modernization is creating distractions, weakening our true nationalism and self-motivation.

Really, you all can't be that hard on the eyes.? and what about the silhouettes, whats up with that? I like to see who I'm talking too, it gives me better possible insight to where this person is coming from. it's hard to be starring at a cartoon caricature of a person and get a better understanding of who you are dealing with, don't you think? I think a real picture puts the human side into the questions and answers. Logos are better than the avatars ans silouttes, but I would still like to see a few mug shots out there. anyone else prefer a photograph over a characterization? Some say they like the anninimity, aninimity from what? paranoia is a big self destroyer.

1. Love conquers all- how true is love conquering almost the impossible. Some says that without money love flow out of the windows. Can love pay my bills? Perennial theme of romantic novels...and they live happily ever after.... ideal summation of a relationship but doesn't always happen, why there are so many divorces and separation, one of the best example of this is the pop icon-Britney Spears, she married and next day she divorce, less than 24 hours?

i have really got into yoga. i really want to learn a pose that will help me get some abs! *LOL* i already know (these are just the short names for them. and i also know that they have nothing to do with abdomen)

im crushing on this girl that im really close to. we've been through a lot. but recently, it seems like she doesnt even want to be my friend anymore. i feel like im doing tons of the work just to keep the friendship going. im really confused because she says im her closest guy friend, yet at the same time, she always goes to this other guy who im "rivals" with. She donest know I see him as a rival though . soemtimes it feels like if i didnt exist, it really woulndt matter to her. and lately, it seems like i annoy her very easily so i dont evne talk to her (evne though i try, she just turns it away) can anyone help me get us back on track as friends. i fear im going insane about it and the fact that in 9 days im leaving for europe for an entire 6 weeks gives me this insane fear that when i get back, we wont even be freinds anymore. waht should i do!?!?!?! ok so she does her thing with the ex's fine but from the littlest to the biggest im always scared. scared someone will take my one true love away from me? isnt that humane nature? the more u love somethin gor someone the more u fear of losing it.
