I laugh every time I watch MTV Jams or BET. First it was Lip Gloss now it is this whack piece of crap. I don't know which song is worse. The bad thing is the first time I heard the song was when I saw the video and I had "a bay bay" in my head for about 5 minutes. Then I put on some Nas, Rakim, Notorious B.I.G., etc. and it quickly went away.

What do I think of the song? Pure crap. I'm disgusted that some wannabes would even come up with something like that, let alone air it on the radio. Songs like these are why I don't like playing the radio. I'm sick of this crap, and T-Pain's stupid songs about buying women drinks, etc.

I would not go as far to say that Hip-Hop is dying, because it is as popular as it has ever been. Its just that the overall quality of the music has gone down dramatically. There are not as many rappers that talk about social and economic problems. Its mostly about cars, money, or women.

As for lyrical content, I agree with you for the most part. Most rappers are complete garbage when it comes to writing their music. However, there remain a few artists that are still out there that write pretty good or even great lyrics. I mostly listen to Lil' Wayne, Jay-Z, T.I. and a few others, as they are pretty good writers with good beats, decent lyrics, and smooth flows. These new artists are not really even talented. But on the slim chance that they are talented, they sure as hell haven't been showing it. It's truly a big disappointment to me because I know Hip-Hop could be so much more than what it is today.

I believe that the main problem is that rapping has become purely business. These young artists that are just coming out only do it for the money now, not for the love of Hip-Hop culture. The record companies are also condoning it, as they are only looking for where to make their next dollar. Most likely the worst part about all of this is that people are still buying the music of these artists, even though the music is pretty much shot to hell. So as consumers, we also have ourselves to blame for continuing to perpetuate this low-grade of Hip-Hop.

Hip-Hop is just in need of a strong revival.

I agree. however the somewhat Hip-Hop is death if no longer lifeless already. decrease back interior the previous due ninety's {whilst i grow to be like 6 years previous} I keep in mind each and all of the previous rap songs they used to do: Tupac, infamous, Snoop Dogg etc. a majority of those artists had they're comparable type. that they had they're way of doing issues which grow to be distinctive to a distinctive artist. yet another ingredient distinctive grow to be that rap artists cared extra approximately their "turfs" than the money. they could combat until eventually ultimately the top. i grow to be as quickly as a important Hip-Hop fan yet no longer anymore - contemporary rap artists are in simple terms copying. E.g. T.I, Lil' Mama etc. The legends have long gone on an identical time as some are nonetheless here suffering the bitter reality that Hip-Hop is death away. this is a catalogue on what I call a catalogue of Rap Legends: - Tupac - LL Cool J - sparkling Prince - infamous B.I.G - Mase - Dr. Dre - Snoop Dogg - Eminem - Rakim - Skee-Lo - Vanilla Ice - Lil' Bow Wow - JD - Jay-Z - MOP - Eve {and an outstanding form of extra} hear to the track of 2007 and hear the track of 1997 until eventually ultimately 2004. The track sounds a lottttt extra powerful in my view. All of recent hip-hop artists are in simple terms in it for the money those days.

No, hip hop will never die! There is alot more going on in the hip hop world than anybody will ever be able to keep up to date with. There is a shitload of deep deep underground rappers out there doing some amazing stuff you would never belive it. And if you check out what's getting done in the world of hip hop in foreign languages, you will have enough material to listen to for at least 100 years, just on what is getting recorded today....

I love good hip-hop, but there is a whole lot of cheap crap out now. I don't want to hear about how many n*gg*rs you popped a cap into, and there is no way I am shaking my *ss just because some slut tells me to.

I hate mainstream hip-hop, as a whole. I think it is crap, mostly. I like Missy Elliot, that is about it.

Check out independent artists. Hip hop is still alive, problem is, only the ho's and sellouts are on top.
To find real hip-hop with soul, you need to dig through alot of crap.

hip hop isn't just music its a way of life. its about MC's, rappers, freestylers, breakdancers, music, and so much more. just because one song is bad doesnt mean they all. big hip hop artists like Tupac, Notorious B.I.G, big daddy kane, and sugar hill gang. they will always live on and be respected through the hip hop life. hip hop will never die because there are new artists coming through and show people that the old hip hop artists arent they only people that can be respected and they will show their talent, they just need to come out and show people what they have got! hip hop will always live on, atleast through america

I notice as I get older (Old enough to witness the birth of hip hop, young enough to still love it) that the KIDS love the stuff I hate. Then it makes me get into it a little. I would've sworn you were lying if you told me I'd be into some of the stuff I'm hearing myself repeat. (It's poppin! It's POPPin! I be lovin it, I be I be lovin it! ~ OMG.)
