Test it. If you made it look up what you did and see what to expect. If you found it then you must test it. Hardness is done by scratching it or scratching something with it and comparing to a chart. Does it leave a colored mark on a white sheet of paper. Is it soluble in H2O or alcohol, etc. Two web sites below give criteria and info on finding what you have.

Could be some metals or ceramics or metalloids. While most metals are shiny and malleable (ductile) there are variations. If you could check its electrical resistance and if you find it is conducting, mostly a metal. If not, mostly a ceramic.

An X-ray diffraction (non-destructive) or X-ray Flourescence test will tell you what it is.
