I'm working in Utah this year and there are some things about the faith that I would really like to know...

The first one is this: I was listening to the local Salt Lake public radio station the other day when a Mormon featured on the program said that while most Mormons (especially young ones) accept the values and practices of the faith, they do not really believe in the literal history of the Book of Mormon.

That is, while they believe Mormons are some of the most moral people who live good lives, they do not really believe that Adam and Eve were in the US, nor did a tribe of Jews come to the US, and so on.

In your experience, is this true? Do most Mormons really not take the book literally?

No one has ever seen God. God works through his creation, man in order to accomplish his purpose. It has always been that way.

If you were standing at the Red Sea when it parted, your humanistic thinking would say Moses was a great magician if you didn't already believe in God.

So you see, this is just the way God wants to do it. Our questioning why he doesn't reveal himself or whatever is only an indication of our humanistic thinking - of course we can't understand God in alot of things because we don't have the mind of God. But for alot of things we will not understand God because of our lack of faith.

So don't look to explain God through human reasoning and logic. The only way to even come close to understanding God is by just believing and through believing, accepting. But this is averse to the human intellect. We expect there is an explanation for everything. God does not reveal himself to us on our terms, so you will be continually frustrated by your questions.

Help! I recently took my battery out of my 1989 Volvo. Now my radio doesn't work! My radio is now asking my for a 'code' to type in to gain access (I am assuming). But I don't know any codes, have any codes, or know how to reset the code.

I have the user's manual for the car, which is absolutely no help, but I think taking the battery out made everything reset and that's why it is asking me for a 'code'. Any assistance would be much appreciated! Thanks!

We have a lot of potted plants out at our cottage but we also have an investation of chipmunks. We love having them there but they always get into the plants. Are there any ways, without killing them, to keep them off the plants? If not are there just certain plants they go for that we shouldn't plant?
