My three grown children in California know that I am a nonbeliever, and we never talk about it. (I live on the other side of the continent). Insofar as I know, my five grandchildren know nothing of my opinions about gods and all that. The youngest of them emails me about every other day, to tell me what's happening in his busy life, including the Sunday school he attends. It is not my role as his grandfather to speak to him about religion, and I shall not, but he has started asking me about Jesus and events told to him by his Sunday school teacher. What would you say to him...he's 10?

The root word of Islam is "al-silm" which means "submission" or "surrender." It is understood to mean "submission to Allah." In spite of whatever noble intention has caused many a Muslim to claim that Islam is derived primarily from peace, this is not true. Allah says in the Qur'an:

We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have surrendered. [Arabic "Muslimoon"]

A secondary root of Islam may be "Al-Salaam" (peace), however the text of the Qur'an makes it clear that Allah has clearly intended the focus of this way of life to be submission to Him. This entails submission to Him at all times, in times of peace, war, ease, or difficulty.

I have been tracking my temp and one morning it was 97.1, the next it was 96.6 and the next 96.0. I just ended my period so i know its not the lowering due to my period starting, but i wanted to know if your temperature can be messed up if you are really cold in the morning. I slept with the window open the past two nights and woke up and took my temperature when i was freezing! Could that effect my temperature making it inaccurate? Thanks :)

I've been in the work force since i was 16. the only time i wasn't involved in some weird drama was when i worked with a bunch of men at a film editing department (that is after the crazy woman who was there before me was fired).
