Find the area of the floor... 2.3*4.7 = 10.81 square meters. Since it's $31 per square meter, $31 * 10.81 = $335.11

First, multiply the length by the width to get the area of the floor in square meters. Then multiply this area by $31 to determine the total cost.

A = length*width
A = 2.3m * 4.7m
A = 10.81 sq meters

10.81 sq meters * $31 = $335.11

Although in reality, you might need to buy your carpet in a piece that is 2.5 to 3 meters width by 5 meters long and then trim it to install it. In that case, you could figure that you need 15 sq meters, which would cost you about $465.
