I'm fascinated by something. Every woman I know appears to define an intellectual or emotional connection as a more serious form of cheating than a sexual connection. I've also recently heard this from women on TV as diverse as Miss Ellie Ewing from Dallas and Sharon Osbourne. On the other hand, most men I know follow the Tony Soprano line - "It's nothing intimate, just talking".

Looking for thoughts from men and women, straight and gay - how do YOU define cheating, and which is more serious - sexual or emotional connection?

I assume others have noticed how female literary characters are made more heroic, aggressive, what have you, in some movie adaptations of the literary classics from which they're in, of course some were heroic, etc., in the classics to begin with, but for those who weren't, at least not so much as some films portray them as being, is the character modification appropriate?

I suppose adaptations allow for some leeway, but I must admit, at the risk of sounding sexist, that I would prefer characters not be "enhanced." I see accuracy as being more important than trying to aid in the self-confidence of little girls.

A 13th C damsel in distress turned into a back-flipping karate expert just seems very out of place.

What do you think?

Many Christians are defending the validity of the bible by saying that it has accurately predicted many catastrophic and significant events. What is your rebuttal to this? Here is a list of just a few.

1) God predicted that the temple in Jerusalem would be totally destroyed (Matthew 24:2). About 40 years later this was literally fulfilled as the Romans destroyed the temple under Titus.

2) God predicted to Abraham that his descendants would be slaves in a foreign land for 400 years (Genesis 15:13). Several generations later, following the death of Joseph, this was literally fulfilled (Exodus 1).

3) God through Daniel predicted the coming world empires of Persia, Greece and Rome (Daniel 2, Daniel 7, etc.) with such accuracy that unbelieving scholars have insisted that the book of Daniel must have been written at a much later time because no one living in Daniel’s day could have known about these future kingdoms!

In our vacant rental the previous occupants did not dust the ceiling fan blades and there is a huge build up of black dust on the ceiling. The reason the dust is black is because they burned candles all the time. We have tried dusting, vacuuming, using a brush and nothing has touch it yet. Any help will be appreciated.
