Classified employees are very hard to fire, even if they miss work and use up all of their leave and sick days. Why is it so hard to get rid of someone that is essentially not working but recieving pay?

This is a tough one. It has tremendous implications. It confronts and unites body and mind, biology and psychology, nature and culture, materialism and spitiualism,... These are some typical dichotomic distinctions that had a tremendous impact on Western thought; and all of them resolve in this Q.
(Note that the reverse --How do your physical being affect your beliefs?-- is relevant aswell.)

I leave all my lights, tv, radio, and computer on 24 hours a day. I waste tons of water. I never recycle. I order free catalogs, magazines, and products off of the interntet so I can just throw them away. I always look for overpackaged products so I can have more trash away. I read about the environment so I can find out how to hurt it more.

that I found condoms in his truck. I am trying to deal with the fact that as I am working on my self-esteem, but nothing seems to affect him, he is still not complimenting me. I am trying to be patient and hold on, but he is not making this easy!! I have lost quite a bit of weight, cut my hair and started wearing makeup again. I even got a compliment from a guy yesterday at work about how cute my hair is and how good I am looking. Why can't my husband say something? I know in the back of my mind I am doing all this to make myself feel better, but a compliment every now and then from my husband would be nice. What more can I do? Am I doing too much? Do I expect too much?

In the bible, there are many instructions from various people telling us to "fear" God and I came across a passage in 1 John:16-18 about "no fear in love" and "perfect love drives out fear". Can someone expect to me what "fear" in the context of "Fear God" and also why did 1 John mention something different?

My boyfriend brought me this sweater for my birthday. As much as i appreciate this gift its a NIGHTMARE!!!!! The colours are all wrong for me ( Yellow and Green ! ) and the neckline is wayyyy to high! I'm using ad hoc wireless network, over two laptop computers. One is connected to broadband via a USB modem. I use broadband on the other PC, via the wireless network.

When the PCs are side by side, I have no trouble connecting to the Internet over the wireless connection. I don't actually have to 'connect'. I just open up I'net Explorer and I'm ready to go!

However when I move about the other PC, and the signal strenght is low (not minimum, either) it fails to connect. When I try to browse, the 'Connect to Internet' pop up box, well... pops up.

Is this normal? Do I have to have a Good/Excellent signal strenght all the time to use Internet? Is there anyways I can overcome this?

I just got a new turtle. I need tips in how to take care of it.
I only had it for 3 days now. I gave him some turtle food but it does eat it. My turtle is 1 1/2 in to head to tail. I think its a red eared slider turtle?

What do I feed it?

Does it need to stay in land or water?

i have been married for 10 years and all along i have been the working parent,the sports enthusist,the school work inforcer,the disiplinarian,dentist ,doctors,bathing even vacationing solo w/the kids.my 9 year old recently had an evening questioning why his father doesnt/wont be there.all along i thought i could be both and stay with him for their sake? was i wrong all along?
