Don't you think there are people who never went to college or had any formal education that are smart as hell. I have a friend who hasn't gone to college, but is super smart. How can I make him feel better about not going? He can't afford to go, so please don't tell me to tell him that. What is the best way to get ahead in this world without a degree?

A man cut me off this morning on my way to work. I had to swerve into the next lane to stop from rear ending him. I floored it, passed him and kept on my way. He get's so close to my bumper, that if I had stopped, he would've parked in my trunk. When I stopped at a stop sign, he gets out of his truck. Stupid me rolls the window down. He puts a gun to my head, pulls the trigger and "click" . I thought I was dead. The next thing I know, my mouth is bleeding. He has punched me in the mouth with the other hand. No license plate on the truck, so nothing really for the cops to go off of except for a description of him and the vehicle.

What do you think should be done to this person if he is caught? The officer said I did nothing wrong. I don't even know how I feel. Needless to say, I took the day off.

Give me your opinions please.

I have a 55 gallon tank with 2 black tetras, 3 platies a guppy, a pecostimos and a chinese algae eater. I am wondering how much gravel rocks should be in the bottom of the tank. I have just enough to barely cover the bottom right now, it makes cleaning very easy. I also was wondering what kind of live plant can I have in there? What is the easiest to care for? Is it a pain to have live plants in the tank? I know they are good for some fish but cleaning a 55 gallon tank can be time consuming with one siphon hose and buckets. I don't want to add more problems. I would love for my fishy to have something real in there if it will help them and not be a BIG hassle.

Christians believe in objective truth. At least all of the Christians I have met believe this. This means that there is truth that is not subject to our opinion or our ability to understand it. It is something that stands on its own and is not reliant on us for anything. Christians believe that the truth still stands, whether people recognize it or not. Some people call it absolute truth. The idea is that there is a standard that is immovable and irrevocable. I am saying that this is what Christians believe. I am not trying to make a statement that this is, or is not, correct

So, now hopefully I have made it a little clearer what it is that I am thinking about. Now what it is that I would like to know is this.

Are there any persons here who are not Christians AND who also believe in objective truth (or absolute truth).

Seems hard to believe that an alternative carpet cleaning solution which is cheaper isn't on the market. Has anyone used an alternative carpet cleaner in their Bissell Shampooer that is cheaper and workable?

My son was just prescribed mediaction that he will be taking long term. It is a small pill (half the size of a tic-tac, same shape). He is 9 years old and has only taken liquid meds. I am not sure if he truly can't swallow it or doesn't want to. This morning I spent nearly an hour trying to get him to swallow it. He drank hal abottle of water and an entire bottle of chocolate millk and he somehow still had the pill in his mout. Then we tried Jello. No dice!
Has anyone had this problem. He needs this medicine and is not vocally opposed to it but something is making him keep it in his mouth.
Any tips, ideas. What worked with your kid? By the way I can not crush the pill. It is a time released formula and crushing it destroys that property.
Thanks

Just in from MSNBC:

Rosie O’Donnell’s stormy tenure on “The View” will be a short one. The opinionated host was unable to agree on a contract with ABC, and she’ll leave the show in June.
Anyone else happy about it?

I'm writing on behalf of my brother-in-law, a hotel manager. He has had a pair of guests (both male) who tryst at his hotel and leave the room in very bad condition. They leave the room smeared with feces and blood among other things. When there is blood involved, the hotel has to pay to bring in a professional cleaning service, but when there is no blood, his housekeepers have to clean the room. Linens have to be thrown away, as well as mattresses and other higher-priced items.

Apparently, this pair are each married to a woman and have a pattern of cycling through the hotels in town and leaving the rooms in a similar state. It is assumed that their wives are not aware of this relationship. It seems that when the hotels try to ban them from staying there again, the two men claim that this would be a human rights violation because they are gay.
