A man cut me off this morning on my way to work. I had to swerve into the next lane to stop from rear ending him. I floored it, passed him and kept on my way. He get's so close to my bumper, that if I had stopped, he would've parked in my trunk. When I stopped at a stop sign, he gets out of his truck. Stupid me rolls the window down. He puts a gun to my head, pulls the trigger and "click" . I thought I was dead. The next thing I know, my mouth is bleeding. He has punched me in the mouth with the other hand. No license plate on the truck, so nothing really for the cops to go off of except for a description of him and the vehicle.

What do you think should be done to this person if he is caught? The officer said I did nothing wrong. I don't even know how I feel. Needless to say, I took the day off.

Give me your opinions please.

What a *****! That is horrible. I feel so sorry for you. but that person needs their driving prilieges taken away, as well as should watch films on people who die in car accidents, that should change his demeanor.

This is why road rage is so dangerous. People really do die from it. And the law in your area may surprise you. In Alabama, there is a man serving 35 years for shooting a man who stabbed him in the face while he was sitting in his car. The man reached in his car, toward the man's son, and the man thought he was trying to kidnap the son, so he shot him. Even the man with the knife testified that the gunshot was self defense, but they still sent him to jail for 35 years for ADW. You have to be very careful. If you choose to defend yourself, be prepared to accept the consequences.

You were cut off. Was it intentional?. You increased your speed, and passed. That's really showed him. You ended up with a bloody mouth, you were lucky. Try that act in some parts of Chicago, you may have ended up dead. The other person is guilty of battery. You were the one who committed road rage.

Within my own state laws, the below are examples of what this person could have been charged and convicted of. Needless to say, what he did was wrong and I'm certainly sorry you had such an unfortunate situation occur.

Reckless endangerment.

(a) A person commits the crime of reckless endangerment if he recklessly engages in conduct which creates a substantial risk of serious physical injury to another person.

Reckless endangerment is a Class A misdemeanor.

Assault in the second degree.

(a) A person commits the crime of assault in the second degree if the person does any of the following:

(1) With intent to cause serious physical injury to another person, he or she causes serious physical injury to any person.

(2) With intent to cause physical injury to another person, he or she causes physical injury to any person by means of a deadly weapon or a dangerous instrument.

(3) He or she recklessly causes serious physical injury to another person by means of a deadly weapon or a dangerous instrument.

Assault in the second degree is a Class C felony.

Stalking.

(a) A person who intentionally and repeatedly follows or harasses another person and who makes a credible threat, either expressed or implied, with the intent to place that person in reasonable fear of death or serious bodily harm is guilty of the crime of stalking.

The crime of stalking is a Class C felony.

My opinion:

1) License Revocation
2) Mandatory Anger Management
3) Heavy penalities and fines
4) Medical Expenses paid
5) Reimbursement for lost wages.
6) 30 days minimum jail.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Wow this is crazy. Good luck with finding this guy.

I had a similar thing happen to me, the guy must have thought my bf was driving to slow so he honked, etc. then decided to pass us on a two lane road (no passing allowed). Then stopped in the road in front of us. We had 3 kids in our car that we were babysitting, so I told my boyfriend just to pass him because the guy jumped out of his car and started yelling at us.

Beest thing you can do is if someone gets out, just drive on!!

First, if you had a gun you could have stop him in his tracks.
If caught, should go to jail for 20 years.
