Before answering, let me explain why I'm asking so you can address my question more specifically. An ordinary person on the street usually thinks atheism is the belief that there is no God. But intellectual atheists are quick to point out that atheism isn't a belief at all. Rather, it's a lack of belief in the existence of God.

Most of us have a hard time distinguishing that from agnosticism. Agnosticism is basically lack of knowledge, right? If you're agnostic, then you lack knowledge about whether there's a God or not. So you don't have a belief either way. So an agnostic's position could be summarized like so:

1. Lack of any belief that God exists.
2. Lack of any belief that God does not exist.

Whereas the intellectual atheist position can be summarized like so:

3. Lack of any belief that God exists.

The only difference between atheism and agnosticism is that atheists are silent about whether they have a belief that God does not exist.

This is a good question and the typical answer does not address the question. The question is about God and what we usually hear is an answer about humans: people have free will and God does not interfere with it. No matter how true this is, it shifts the emphasis of the question and avoids dealing with the felt divorce between our conceptions of God and our life experience.
The question must be analyzed before it can be answered. Who, or what, is God? If one conceives of God as a being whose nature is to intervene in the affairs of humans, stemming from a literal interpretation of Christian Myth, then we must wrestle with these questions when reality challenges our theories. However, to shift the question’s focus from God to humans is dishonest and weak. Rather than say God intervenes, when God obviously doesn’t, or saying there is no God, why can’t we simply avoid the extremes and admit that our ideas about God’s nature are incorrect?

My mom , while travelling in bus started to bleed continuously (after a sudden jerk on passing over a gutter) from the uterus for about 4 hours. she was taken to the hospital and the doctors gave her medicines. She was asked to take an ultrasound scan and the result suggested that she has multiple fibrosis less than 1cm in the uterus. After one day she started to have a small abdominal pain. Why is this happening? What is the next step after this? Can this be harmful. plz help.

last night a male friend im close to told me he had been raped a couple of times when he was young. GOD i couldnt no matter how hungry i was. im sure i would try hard to feed it as much as i would feed myself in a fammine situation.I just wouldnt have the heart.But if i had absolutely no choice and i was forced to have someone else take the animal away for slaughter, no way could i bring myself to eat it.
I suppose you would have to be in a very serious fammine situation before you could totally and truthfully answer that question.BUT----FOOD FOR THOUGHT???

I lost about 15 pounds last year (that's all I really needed to loose). Anyway, I gained about 11 pounds back over the holidays (Turkey Day and Christmas....darn those two (just kidding!)), and since then I haven't really been able to loose alot. First of all, I was EXTREMELY strong willed and dedicated when I first lost the weight. But now, I seem to have lost that will power (sadly). I lost about 4 of those 11 extra pounds....Then gained about 6 back due to different celebrations and what-not with my family. I REALLY want to loose those 15 pounds again. Do you have ANY suggestions what-so-ever for loosing weight (**that's quick and easy to stick to**).??? One extra question, do Sit-Ups, Lunges, and stretching count as 'Exercise'? If so, how long should I do them for each day?? PLEASE HELP!! 3D is three dimensions, characterized by Cartesian (x - horizontal, y - vertical , z - depth) coordinates. But I read somewhere that without time, the 3rd Dimension would just be like a 3D comic, without life nor movement. Time is the 4th characteristic, they say, but I also read somewhere that there are other aspects of time that makes us live actually in the 5th Dimension.
