Unlike the U.S.; it is extremely difficult to work illegally in Canada. For one thing, the population is enough smaller, it;s easier to keep track of people. For another, there are tighter safeguards built into the system to keep employers from hiring workers illegally.

Also, you risk not only deportation and permanent ban from Canada when (not if) you are caught; you also will spend jail time and be fined.

Not really worth it, just go legally.

It is very hard to do that. For most employers, their insurance policies will not cover a person working without a work permit. If you hurt yourself, you could take your employer to court and their insurance will not cover them. Also, employers are supposed to fill out a record of employment for all employees, it is harder to balance the books if you can't claim an "unauthorized person".

Its is better for everyone if you get a temporary SIN. (then you can take advantage of benefits such as EI, health care, voting etc)

There are very few employers who would even consider it, and the ones who would, you wouldn't want to work for.

If you are caught, you can be kicked out of the country permanently.

Why would you want to do that. Much more benefit to work legally.
