Do you eat a lot in hot weather?

I have four cats, and all they do is lay around the house - cold or hot weather. I am in Florida and when it gets hot, they tend to become even lazier. We definitely don't have to buy as much food for them in the summer. They tend to shed off some of that winter fat.

My only concern is you say he is young. How young? If he is 2 years and under I would wonder about some health issue. Usually cats that are 2 and under tend to be more active then older cats. Perhaps if he is more lethargic than normal, and the behavior is fairly recent, you should take him in for a check-up.

Might be safe to have it checked out by a vet to make sure it isn't really ill. If it's hot that could very likely be it. I have 3 cats and live in a hot climate...they don't do much either when I take them outside for awhile...if you discover that it is the weather...keep them in. Good Luck

Sounds like it. My two cats are the same when it's hot out (which is about 2wks per year in England!)

Don't worry, when the temp goes down in the evening he will be more likely to eat. Our cat does the same.

cats tend to be less hungry in hot weather but id advise feeding dry food and lots of water as it dont take long for meat to smell!!!

Poor baby!!! I still love you kitty.

Hon, listen. Take the cat to your vet NOW. Do not wait until your pet ain't there.
