GOD i couldnt no matter how hungry i was. im sure i would try hard to feed it as much as i would feed myself in a fammine situation.I just wouldnt have the heart. But if i had absolutely no choice and i was forced to have someone else take the animal away for slaughter, no way could i bring myself to eat it.
I suppose you would have to be in a very serious fammine situation before you could totally and truthfully answer that question.BUT----FOOD FOR THOUGHT???

Oh I know what you mean. When I go through the meat market I call it the cemetery or morgue. I betcha there would be a lot more vegetarians if each person had to kill their own food. eeeeeee it would be like eating your dog. One time my husband brought home a trout and had it swimming in the bathtub. Poor thing was terrified. He killed it and prepared it for dinner and no one could eat it. I had two pet chickens that loved me and followed me everywhere...they learned to scratch on the door by watching the puppy. They did not get eaten by the way. Have a good one. Mmm

I'm from the countryside so I'm well used to eating the creatures I have helped to grow. For me it's a matter of the animal having the best possible life and dignity in its death as well as a gratitude towards the living things that give uphteir lives for us. That's why now when I live in a town I prefer the organically grown foods as much as possible and volounteer in the local SPCA.

No, I couldn't do that. I like the taste of meat, mainly chicken, but have never been in a butcher's shop because I don't like the sight or smell f the meat. I buy it pre-packed from a supermarket, but buy the organic stuff, in the hope that at least the animal may have had a pleasant enough life

that happened all the time all throughout time. It is only in the last 100 years that having a stable food supply for Americans became more of a reality. It still isn't in most parts of the world. You make your judgements as someone who has grown up with a full refridgerator all their life. Imagine living in Africa or China and having to grow and produce all your own food or trade something for food.

The answer is "No". We all die anyway. I would look after my animal friends to the end. And if I died first I would be happy for the animals to eat my flesh. I would think they would die soon after anyway. No don't tell me I would think differently if it were a real situation. My pets would never let me down and I have a responsibility to do the same. Though it would definitely crush me to see them starving.

no, i couldnt which makes me a hypocrite because i eat meat. I know how it is killed and it is horrible but i just try not to think about it.
Possibly if i was starving i may be able to do it but i still dont think so. If someone else killed it I might be able to... oh i dont know... too difficult a question to answer!

No that is the difference between a pet owner and a farmer.A farmer tends to his animals requirements but doesn't make pets of them, with the possible exception of dogs and horses.

I would have no problem, I would eat you if I were hungry enough and there was no other food.
