I try to read a wide variety of political viewpoints, but one interesting thing that has caught my attention lately is the idea that 'liberalism is a mental illness' coming from the extreme right. I have seen it on blogs (on two right-wing psychologists blogs) on right-wing radio and from right-wingers themselves.

What do you think of this phrase and it's implications, taking into account the political atmosphere, the large scope of generally normal people who are being treated in the mental health system, the mistreatment of the mentally ill and it's stigma and the actual feasibility of one political faction abusing the psychiatric system to gain power over the opposing faction? Does this mud-slinging have more wieght to it when it's mouthed by individuals in the psychiatric proffession? Are there enough protections in place for the rights of individuals to prevent the psychiatric system from being abused politically on a large scale?

when someone asks a question that is totally a fabricated lie.
For example if someone asked about marines failing to observe proper protocol in saluting Clinton during his time in office, or that the Clinton's are "charging" the secret service rent. Both questions are false, yet Conservatives and Republicans jump all over it and treat it as truth.

My question is, do they do this out of hate or out of ignorance??? there really aren't any other options.

Hello,

I formed a corporation in Dec of 2006 that has no sales, expenses or employees. Do I have to file taxes for 2006 still?

I will probably use Turbo Tax for business if I do.

To go through the background check, show 3 pieces of ID and everything else.

Should a Lie-Detector test be involved in this process now?
How about a metal evaluation?

This may not have stopped him, but would have defineitly put him on the authories radar.

A woman I know only from my uni course (socially, we have hardly ever spoken to each other) saw me in town, over the weekend, with my girl-friend. When I saw her at uni today, she asked me, rather annoyed, why I hadn't told her I am gay.

Did I miss the memo about HAVING to tell everyone we meet?

And who else is mildly vexed that the only way to emphasise a word here is to put it in caps?

Now, don't get me wrong, I love Tolkien. I love the history he made for Middle-earth, and the detail he put into it, but to be honest I find reading 'The Lord of the Rings' a little tedious. His style seems a bit stilted to me, and the constant stops for poems and songs kind of drives me a little nuts. And we all know how 'exciting' the 'Silmarillion' is for so many fans! ;) So I'm wondering if I'm a bad Tolkien fan for not liking his style of writing, or if I'm not alone.

I tried to include as many fish in the pics as I could. Everybody seems happy except the Australian Rainbow. He just kinda hangs around. Any suggestions for my tank? It's a 30 gal. I have 4 tetras, 3 rosey barbs, 2 dwarf gouramis (males), 1 rainbow, 1 angelfish, 3 Mickey Mouse platys. I feed them a frozen bloodworm cube 3 times a week. Am I doing ok?

Would a diet of soup and vegetables work?

Also, what could I have for a breakfast meal that wouldn't be that fattening? Note that I hate eggs. Is there any kind of cereal that doesn't taste like cardboard I could do?

Any help on any kind of diet that has worked for you is appreciated! I only need to lose about 20 pounds, not 100!

Thanks!

Also, I am studying to be a school teacher. Any idea what the starting salary is in Canada?
