With all the craziness going on in this country, I think I want to move somewhere that is neutral territory. Can anyone tell me a little about Canada (crime rates, best cities, warmest area, ect)...
Also, I am studying to be a school teacher. Any idea what the starting salary is in Canada?

Canada is a wonderful country to live in, although there is definitely some anti-americanism going on here. I haven't found it to be a problem though ... there are an equal number of Canadians who give me thumbs up when they see my U.S. vehicle license.

In order to move from the U.S. to Canada you must go through the entire immigration process, which will take 1-3 years and cost around $1,200 in application fees and associated costs.

As a teacher, your best bet is going to be to specialize in some area as well as general education ... like also get certification in special ed, or sign language, or something else that gives you an edge over other teachers. Even though only Quebec is French speaking, Canada is officially bi-lingual, so being at least conversational in French would be a plus for a teacher in Canada.

I live in Vancouver, and I love it! It is so gorgeous, and I usually hate cities. The crime rates for violent crime are much lower than the U.S., in large part due to very strict gun regulation.

Canada is an excellent place to live.
In fact it is rated number 1 by the UN. If you are just looking for warm weather, than i would try British Columbia, the citie being Vancouver and Victoria, but........................if you are open to other provinces, i think that Alberta or Ontario would be excellent as well. I used to live in Toronto and it has a very low crime rate.
some differences between canadian citeies and american cities are
.Canadian Cities are cleaner
.lower crime in canada
.we don't meddlw in other country's business
.ppl in canada are friendlier

Hope This Helps!

oh and that guy above me couldn't be more wrong about canada!

Canada is the best country in the world. I live in the prairies, but the most beautiful part of Canada is the west, the rocky mountains of western Alberta and British Columbia..Our crime rate is fair to good on a world standard. Teachers starting salaries I believe are just a little under $40,000.00/year in Saskatchewan.

no, it's a nice place.
the warmest area would be southren British Columbia.
you can google British Columbia for more information. they have little to no snow and anywhere in Canada except Toronto would have a lower crime rate. Not sure about the salery for a teacher , you can probly look at the local paper for the area you are concedering because each provence would have different saleries.
