1) Having the highest real GDP on record is proof tax cuts for the rich work. Nevermind that every single president since atleast FDR could have said the same thing when they were president, OR that the percent increase was much higher for Keynesian Democrats.

2) It takes 4, 8, and sometimes 12 years for a president's policies to take effect. That's why Clinton reaped the rewards of the Reagan tax cuts (let's forget the Bush Sr recession for now).

3) Presidential policies have absolutely no effect on the economy. FDR, JFK, LBJ, & Clinton were just plain lucky.

4) Just because there is a correlation between highly progressive tax rates (meaning the rich pay a much higher percentage) & more social spending with better economic growth, does not imply causation. Unless of course if you're talking about tax cuts. Then it is cause & effect

I went to college in Maryland for 4 years, but remained a California resident. While living in Maryland I earned nontaxed (scholarship) and taxed (but claimed exempt from state) income. I moved to Virginia and became a resident in August and earned only nontaxed (scholarship) income. Do I need to file as a resident or a non resident of California (or file at all)? Do I need to file as a part time resident of Virginia?

My cousin fell skating down a hill and is in the hospital. he bled from his head, and has blood in his brain. doctors have performed a CAT scan, and surgery might be needed. He feels very sleepy and says he doesn't want to die. how serious is this? and can there be any consequences from all this? can brain surgery result in brain disfunctions? what can blood in the brain do?

Think of it... in China the population was growing way too big so the government made it "one child per couple" and the population ceased to grow as much.

Why not do this in Africa? I mean, Africa may not have a population raging out of control but a lot of these children are born into poverty and during droughts, famine, war, etc. there is hardly enough food for all the children. Why don't the African governments force the Chinese law on the people? And don't say because they are democratic. I know about African democracy, it's not the same as we in the West know it.

Less people = more food, health care, and so on for everyone else.

so god put man on earth to be fruitful and multiply, as he ordered of adam and eve in genesis. why didn't he make the earth much bigger? i mean, the earth doesn't even make up one billionth of the mass of the universe. now, we have all these problems associated with overpopulation, i.e. crime, poverty, starvation. certainly, if he really wanted us to be fruitful and multiply he would have used more of his resources in making the earth a larger part of the universe.

I'm a Maryland resident, and I'm planning on pursuing my career in the medical field. I got accepted to both University of Maryland and Virginia Tech. They both offer good pre-med program. The question is which one is better than the other? Since i live in MD, the cost of University of Maryland will be lower than Virginia Tech, if i choose to attend University of Maryland. But should i really go to University of Maryland, and save myself some money, or should i go to Virgini Tech? Please give me some information about their campus and the quality of education offered by both schools. Will it really make a huge difference when I'm applying for Medical School? And which one of these two schools will prepare me the best for MCAT? Thanks a lot.

I am a Messianic Jew (or just call me a Christian, whatever) and I am stapped for cash, and my personal belief of receiving Communion everyday is a strong one. I have been receiving it just fine, i just feel i would rather have something more meaning full for the ceremony than what I have been using.
