Suppose you have to burn a piece of charcoal.
During combustion of the charcoal heat energy is released, so it is exothermic reaction, but heat is required to start the whole burning process! When we ignite the fuel we need to light a march first, which first gives some heat energy to the charcoal before the charcoal starts reacting with oxygen in the air. But on thw whole, the heat energy released during burning is much more than that required to start the reaction, so it is exothermic?

So at the beginning the burning of charcoal is an endothermic reaction, and after that it becomes exothermic? Can we separate combustion into 2 stages? Thanks!

I need help with this problem.
Fine the vertex and intercepts
x = y^2 - 4y + 3

I know how to do it .. but my answer always turns out to be different from the book's answer. Since this equation is a parabola, and given that k in the vertex formula is equal to -b/2a, shouldn't the vertex be at (15,-2) ?

It seems I'm in trouble. I was working on a plant experiment where I soak seeds in different liquids and plant them. After two weeks, it turned out that all the seeds stopped growing. All of a sudden, one of the plants grew into a healthy plant on the third week. Do I finish the experiment with that one plant or should I just conclude that the liquids killed my plants?
I want to redo the project but I have less than a week to regrow them so i don't have the time. I need advice please!

In 1996 I was sentenced to 5 years for stabbig a guy 5 times.I did my time,and got out.
