He and I have known each other for a very short period of time, and he gave me a promise ring before I left to go to Germany. I'm going to be here for the next two years, probably Turkey for 15 months, and then settling in Italy. He says now that we're engaged, and he's looking for diamond engagement rings, but I've told him that I'm not ready. I'm 19, and I want to get my degree in nursing and in art before anything drastic happens in my life. He's never met my parents, and he keeps thinking that I really don't want to get married because I want to wait. This makes no sense to me. I mean, shouldn't he want to wait? I don't want to have to split my attention between my future children and school, and I don't want to be financially unstable, so that's why I want to get education out of the way. I also am not ready for such a big commetment. He says that it's hard to trust me because everytime I raise the subject it's "one thing after another." Help!!

While I agree that it is anyone's right to state their opinion, isn't comparing the U.S. to an Islamist regime intellectually lazy?

I understand that the secret CIA prison issue raises serious concerns (if not about Europe's cooperation as well) and that the Iraq war is highly unpopular — but where does disagreement simply turn to mindless rhetoric?

Last night my "neighbor" stopped me by the mailboxes and started in how a BLACK family is moving in across the way. She said "Well I guess we can kiss goodbye to our neighborhood" !!!!!!!!!! I said "Excuse me?" and she was going on about how trashy they were (THEY JUST MOVED IN! They seemed pefectly nice to me!) and how the mother was single and I guess that was the end of the world. (I was a single mom too!) I said "I don't agree. I have nothing against people because of colour" and she yelled something about watching out for my daughter or some bullcrap.
WHY ARE PEOPLE SO RACIST??
And why the hell do racist people always assume you are with them?

I got pulled over today for speeding in a school zone. (39 in a 25). it was a mistake since the school zone is only 80 feet long. but i didn't have my license on me so i gave him my social and he didn't give me a citation or anything. he asked for my home phone and my cell phone number. i didn't give any paperwork or i didn't sign anything. was it a warning or what? Will I get a ticket in the mail?

I am almost 26 and have never been good at math. Barely got past basic algebra in high school. I struggled and fought and still barely passed. When I graduated I wanted to do something without lots of higher math. Unfortunately that's where many of the good jobs are. That may be why I'm making $12.50 an hour. Some people always seemed to be brilliant at math with little effort. Is it genetics that make some better at math? I don't know, but perhaps I have a learning disability.

Okay, i need to lose 12 pounds before June 1st. And i know i have to change the way i eat and exercise a lot.. I know i can stop drinking pop cause ive done it before. But how can i stop eating junk food? I dont eat a lot.. but i dont eat right either... I have tried to cut all junk food out before but it didnt last very long.. Whenever there's a girl I find myself attracted to, I usually don't get hard or have any desire to undress her. I just get an overwhelming desire to want to be with her and to want to be loved by her. Does this make me less of a man because I don't crave sex with them? Is there something wrong with me? I'm not effeminate or metrosexual or anything like that by any stretch of the imagination.

BTW, if you were wondering, yes I do get hard sometimes, however, it is only when I get confronted by dirty things that resonate with my more primitive sexual desires, not with something clean like meeting a wonderful girl.

Hello I am 18, failing Sixth Form Education and from the UK...I am unhappy, disheartened and oppressed in UK and need a new life! I have heard bout 1 Year Work and Holiday Permits in Australia and am thinking of catching a flight, renting accomodation and finding a job. What else do I need to do and also are there any other countries that offer such wonderful visa's for young people? I know that I still have to come back to UK but I need to meet new people and see a part of the world........I was thinking of going to Sydney but where would it be easier for a low income person such as myself to live?

I am in my 30's and find that when you stand up to your date and say 'wow, that hurt my feelings, please don't do that again.' or set some kinds of boundery.. that the man tends to call you moody or withdraw and react in some sort of 'temper tantrum way', trying to get a rise out or you or start a fight or something? I find that I stay very calm and am much less upset and emotional, I tend to be the grounded, calm one that won't take crap or the blame... do other women find this?

my dog is 20 years old this july although he is blind he still goes a daily walk and enjoys it, he is deaf aswell he eats well and has just become incontinent a little. he cant settle in the day though sleeps well at nite he isnt ill , but his quality of life is slowly getting worse should we let him carry on or should we take him to the vets to be put down it seems so sad we hate seeing him this way what would you do
