find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats, take 300-400 calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.
5-8servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water a day
5-6 small meals instead of 3 big ones (breakfast is the most important - make sure to get complex carbs like whole wheat bread, oatmeal, fruit etc)
4-6 times a week cardio for 30-50min, light weight training, many reps
no junk food, no sodas, no alcohol, no white flour (cakes, cookies, white bread, pasta etc.), nothing high in sugar (ice cream)

Eat only when you're truly hungry, several times a day. Think more like five or six small meals daily, so your metabolism doesn't sink and your blood sugar stays steadier.

Eat meals about the size of a loosely closed fist which is the natural and unstretched size of a stomach.

Drink a glass of water a few minutes before eating, because a lot of hunger pangs are actually your body asking for water. Drink TONS of water, at least a half gallon a day.

Eat natural, whole foods.

Stay away from processed, prepackaged stuff.

Do not drink sodas! Your body has a harder time metabolizing high fructose corn syrup (look for it in anything sweet), so it's more likely to be turned to fat.

Do cardio, brisk walking (be sure to break a sweat) for example, for at least 30 minutes a day. Throwing in some strength training, and you'll gain muscle which increases your basal metabolic rate.

Seriously, follow these instructions, and you can lose more than just those 12.

In two months you can probably loose 12 lbs in a sustainable matter. You can't loose more than 2 lbs of fat/week. Anything beyond that is water that you will quickly gain back.

Instead of eating junk food for a snack eat fruit or vegetables. Try grapes, an apple, strawberries, baby carrots, celery sticks -- anything that all you have to do to prepare it is wash it. Drink plenty of water.

Avoid junk food whenever possilbe. If you can, throw out all that's in your home. Don't keep it around any longer. Keep snacks like protein bars in your backback so you'll stay away from the vending machines at school.

Accountability helps too. Find a close friend who also is trying to loose weight so you can support each other. Or you could talk to a parent or teacher about your weight loss goal. Finally write done *everything* you eat, including portion sizes.

Well the reason you want junk food is cause your body is addicted to it. Your body wants the sugar. Force yourself to not eat junk food/sugar for about 2-3 weeks and you'll look at brownies as mud. It really works i stopped eating sweets for close to a month and did not eat another one for 6 more months. You just don't want it anymore cause you know its bad for you.

Lose the pop too, pop is like drinking the syrup you put on the pancakes, very horrible for you.

You can eat almost anything you want, just make sure you do the exercise also.

Unhealthy as it is i broke down to drinking nothing but water and eating 1 meal a day (cereal) and doing strenuous exercise everyday. I lost 35 pounds, i broke off it and i've still got it off, lost 4 pant sizes, good results but a very hard way to diet.

there's a theory out there that if you put an electrical collar around your neck and give the remote to your friend with instructions that every time you do something that you already outlined that you shouldn't do, that he shocks you.
what i'm trying to say is that it takes a special person to answer their own question correctly and then still act as if they're completely clueless. this character flaw pretty much makes you a communist.
P.S. It's safe to loose about 2 pounds per week. More could be unhealthy. Make weekly goals and stick to them.... commie.
