Im writing a story. Its a 3rd person view.

Its in the present tense.

Is there any problems with using present tense. Is past better?

For example:

As the settling mist impedes the full moon, a beautiful lady charges through the forest on a white horse, grasping a lantern forward on a long cane.

Compared to:

The mist settled on the ground, the full moon impeded from sight. A beautiful lady charged through the forest on a white horse, a lantern grasped in her hand.

PS. The past tense may not make sense in the grammar sense.

We have been together for 2 & half yrs and he has left me 9 times , every time i have wined or complained , he just runs off to moms and he wont talk to me.Im his first girlfriend and he was 31 yrs old when i met him and always lived at home , never paid rent.People tell me , he does this because i keep taking him back,he doesnt even say hes sorry.I guess hes scared of this hole new girfriend thing ? Let me first say I don't agree with the far left or the far right-but we have a man with 5 deferrments during wartime (somebody most certainly died in his place) saying or inferring that dems are unpatriotuic. 4 years and 400 billion $ later we find ourselves in a war in which he was one of the main architects-and most certainly many of his business associates have benefited (Halliburton-do the research many personal connections as well as his own)-I feel the War whether right or wrong was persecuted poorly-if the Chickenhawks would have taken Gen. I don't get it! There are so many people on here asking advice about their cheating spouse/mate! Don't they know, ONCE A CHEATER, ALWAYS A CHEATER? Are they really that hard up that feel they have to put up with a cheating spouse?

Having kids is no excuse. I had two small children when I filed for divorce because of a cheating husband. I also was a mother/housewife and did not have a job! That was not a reason for me to stay with a cheater.

Hi new to bulbs. I just bought some Hollyhock bulbs or tubers from Costco (haven't opened yet, didn't know hollyhocks were sold this way in a package?) I live in zone 8- Texas, will they bloom this year?
Also, I bought gladiolus and lily bulbs too. Altogether I have close to 120 bulbs planted. Is this enough for an average suburban lot? I have them planted in the front and the backyard. Do I need to buy more or is this a good amount of flowers? What's the success ratio for bulbs?
