I dont care if women go to war with men, but i do have certain requirements or standards that i think should be met.

I am an army medic in my Medic School training one of the things we had to do as part of the ciriculum was carry "injured" soldiers. You had to pull drag or move an injured soldier 300 meters. I saw a LOT of females that could not perform this task. Also we had to do a 6 mile roadmarch with a full load on our backs. The roadmarch was mandatory to complete Training. I can name 4 females that did not complete yet were still awarded a passing grade in the class.

My point is i dont care if a female is in the military but if push comes to shove she should have to live up to the same standards a man has to. I dont like the fact knowing that their are women in the army that couldnt drag someone to safety or cant carry a fighting load 6 miles. Or maintain their own equipement. They dont really help on missions because a lot of times other people have to come behind and help them out. Also females are not umm.. "equiped" to handle not showering for up to 4 days at a time they can get a female infection. And that just strains the medical system and takes them out of work while they go to the clinic and get checked out.

Thats why i have a lot of respect for female firefighters they live up to and maintain the same standards as the males.( at least where i am from anyway)

Ask them. Should they? Yes. But most women are smarter, they know war begets more war. No woman raises a child to die in war, but most women feel that if war is good enough for their beloved sons, brothers, husbands and fathers, then it's good enough for them as well. Most women want to do their patriotic duty. And by the way, women are at war, right now.
Women want to defend their homelands and families every bit as much as the man standing next to them. It's just that most women would do everything possible to avoid it in the first place.

Absolutely not in combat roles! They may serve well behind lines in nursing or doctors or other support roles. Young people in this country have no clue what happens in real war....can you imagine the outrage felt if women infantry were raped in public by an enemy soldier? how about hung by a pole, or dragged behind a car down the street? This is what happens to our male soldiers sometimes in combat.

This is not a equal rights issue either...don't even go there.

A society or country which lets its women and children fight its battles is a disgrace and lacking morals.

The only possible exception would be if our US Homeland was invaded and the fighting went house to house. Of course anyone can use force in defending themselves.

Why should they not? If they believe in the fight and want to, nothing should be able to stop them. But if were talking about a draft, there's better places for most women in a time of war. Just ask the ironworkers of 1941-1945. (that is what housewifes did in WW2) They took over the roles of men in society, which was a large spark in the woman's revolution that later followed, as they got bored being back in the houses.

If she wants to then yes she should be allowed too, there are many women serving in the military now and most are at war, because there is always a war somewhere.

I wish they woudn't. War is horrible enough without women having to be slain and maimed.

But at some point if there is ever a draft, we can expect that it will include men and women. Can you imagine the outrage if only men are drafted....?? Then imagine the outrage when women are dragged off to war.
