What are they? What do they focus on?
Management consultants evaluate an organization and make suggestions on how the firm can change processes, procedures and training to improve job performance and meet company goals.

Why do firms hire them?
Sometimes firms lose market share, and want to find out how to better run their company, so it can remain profitable.
Other times, firms lose key staff members and want to find out why, so they can retain the staff they still have.

Good luck!
