Let me first say I don't agree with the far left or the far right-but we have a man with 5 deferrments during wartime (somebody most certainly died in his place) saying or inferring that dems are unpatriotuic. 4 years and 400 billion $ later we find ourselves in a war in which he was one of the main architects-and most certainly many of his business associates have benefited (Halliburton-do the research many personal connections as well as his own)-I feel the War whether right or wrong was persecuted poorly-if the Chickenhawks would have taken Gen. Shinsekis recommendations of more troops we would have been better off. How idiotic to go in with a small "Lighting Force" while the rest of the country collapsed-border security became non-existant-ammo and explosive depots were looted (IED material)-disbanding the Iraqi military-it (the war) was conducted in an ignorant fashion-regardless of whether we feel it was needed-I am a Vet (Vietnam) and I have no respect for Cheney-

I believe what Cheney, Rove and all of BushCo are involved in this crazy plan to clean out the treasury leaving behind IOU's that it will take generations to pay off and at the same time are in fact murdering our service personnel by putting them in harms way with their lies.

It is interesting that none of the top brass in BushCo really ever served in our armed forces and yet they took shots at Kerry who did actually serve. I think they (all of BushCo) should be tried for murder under the felony murder law.

While we have troops in harms way the only thing those troops should hear is that everyone of us is solidly behind them.
All this political B.S. is just like Viet Nam ,where we were handcuffed by our own government and morale suffered.
The quickest, cheapest way out is thru VICTORY and that is in sight with more and more Iraqi units taking up the fight.
There have been mistakes, just as in any conflict in history.
When we leave it must be on military terms of victory ,not a half baked political decision.
We could find ourselves having to go back in to run Iran out ,if we don't leave the Iraqi's solidly in charge.

What comes to my mind is that when asked why he did not volunteer for military service during the Vietnam War, Cheney said, "I had better things to do." That's a devastating indictment on Mr. Cheney. How dare he accuse the Democrats of not supporting the troops! Why do you think they call Bush's neo-con war mongers "chicken-hawks?" It's because they themselves never served, never will serve, nor will their children serve in the US military. Bush, Cheney, and gang are quite satisfied to see your sons and daughters serve and sacrifice. I hate these unneccesary, obscene wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, but I am proud of our troops, who when called upon to serve, did so, and did not opt out with,"I have better things to do." BTW, the author of this question states his case quite well.

I think that questioning one's support of the troops has become a distractionary technique that certain individuals use to invoke emotional responses rather than rational thought. I agree that There are those who are trying very hard to cover an agenda which has neither the American public interest nor that of the soldiers sworn to fight for the American people. The agenda is to divide the soldiering and policing class of our society from the society it is supposed to protect and get them to support the hierarchical structure of commercialism. The president and vice presidents actions are not about our community. They are not about equality, nor are they about freedom. It is all about an extremely oppressive hierarchical system of power and domination. It is not about Democracy, it is about money, it is about capitalism a game that certain individuals dominate and want to continue on a world wide game board. The really sh*tty thing is that this selfishness and greed, is all being done in democracy's name as well as being done in the name of America with America's resources, when there is clear evidence of many social minded and very generous American people, who would clearly rather world peace and community to American dominance.

If you mean aiding and abetting the enemy means they don't support the troops than I quite agree !

When the democratic House of Representatives threaten ens to shut off funds for our troops on the battlefield, and they insist our troops be pulled out of the war zone by a certain date, that is aiding and abetting the enemy.

These slimy democrats keep talking about impeachment, I say it's time we started impeaching them, and I suggest we start with Murtha, Reid, and Pelosi !

Dems have been screaming to properly and safely equip the troops that are there. The administration hasn't done so. Who supports the troops?

The administration and Republicans constantly cut Veteran's benefits, particularly medical ones. They love them when they are eating bullets for no good reason, but once they're used up, they're tossed away. The Dems just passed a boost in Veteran's medical benefits.

The Dems only want to risk the lives of our troops when it is vitally important and serves a purpose. The Republicans think that macho chest-thumping is reason enough to get thousands of our troops killed and maimed. The Republicans think that it's better to get them killed than to admit a mistake.

I'll leave it to you folks to guess if I agree with Cheney or not....

In truth, I don't think anyone is supporting the troops...Dems or Reps. They are using the troops (soldiers) to get their own wills accomplished and that isn't exactly what I'd call "support". I think our troops, like the citizens of the U.S. are manipulated pawns of the political and advertising circus.

In truth, everybody in politics is pretty "UnAmerican" as they themselves have defined it.

I know democrats who support our troops. the only reason Cheney says that is to make democrats look bad and to try and get Republicans to drift further from democrats. But i think most of the "Soldier spitters" are democrats but i know a few democrats that really support the troops.

The Democrats absolutely do not support the troops.

It is the democrats who repeat enemy propaganda.

It is the democrats who refuse to admit that Iraq has a democratic government of the type chosen by its people

It is the democrats who blame all killing on our troops.

It is the democrats who accuse out troops of torture

It is the democrats who accuse our troops of massacring civilians.

It is the democrats who think that our troops are stupid.

you only have to look as far as the latest house budget to see the truth. the military will as well as their families. if you think this is how you support those that are in a war obviously you missed something in your service education.
