OS = Windows XP SP1. Soundcard works fine (installed drivers) but the external drive doesn't seem to work. I previously had the card setup on another machine with no problems.

It doesn't seem to be detected and nothing I plug into it seems to work.

I'm a Sagittarius and I have some questions...?

A guy I work with randomly asks me when I birthday is, I told him, November 26, and he says, "sagittarius, figures." I am not all that involved with my sign and horoscope and want to know why he would say something like that. When I ask him he just shrugs his shoulders. What is the big deal about being a Sagittarius?

Is there any difference between oil blanching and just frying?

I saw Good Eats episode where Mr. Brown sticks fish into some hot oil and pops it in the oven. He called it oil blanching. Isn't this the same exact thing as just deep frying the fish but maybe at lower temperatures?

Question about public assistance?

MY husband goes back to work tomorrow thank God. We just signed up on public assistance 3 weeks ago but are having a problem now. I got a disconnect notice for our gas bill in the mail. How do I take care of it? He won't have a check for a week and even that check won't be enough to cover the gas bill. Do I take it in to them or what? My caseworker never mentioned what to do about bills.

what she want?

i like a girl who said that she thought she was falling for me but i'm not sure how she feels now. we are both dating other people and i am about to graduate college and move back home, 500 miles from the college. i was talking to her and asked her what her plans are for christmas break. she said that she was staying with some friends for a while but said after that, "i'm free" then i told her that i had to go back to school to take a class (i had 1 class before graduation) so she said "oh yeah, that's right, you will be here." then when i told her my other female friend was visiting for new years, she seemed kinda disappointed. does it seem like she wants me to invite her to visit me?

to stay in nyc (and finish my last yr of high school) or move to houston texas?

im in my junior yr of high school, i'll be graduating in one more year. i would love to graduate from my current high school, but my family (mom dad little sis) bought a house in houston TX and are planning to move by this summer. should i stay with a (family) friend's family for a yr and go to college here, or move to TX with my fam and fly back here for college after a yr? if i were to stay. i would have to work over the summer for most of the money i would need to support myself, and is it even legal to stay with another family at 17? i really do want to stay here, it would mean so much more for me to graduate from my current high school. my parents are still considering. i need some advice, please.

Which is the best teeth whitener to use?

Why did Mary Magdalene come to annoint Christ's dead body if she knew a stone shut the tomb?

A solder guarded the tomb. No one was to enter the tomb. The Jewish leaders feared what might ensue if someone could enter the tomb and steal the body. Everyone was surprised when the body was gone, and when the resurrected body walked through walls. But this does not explain why Mary Magdalene and her friends sought to annoint the body if they had already seen that a huge stone sealed the tomb. And it hardly seems custom for a human to open a sealed tomb after three days, in those days. (Of course, some of us, as I myself, believe that Christ resurrected, but I am not speaking of this. WHY did Mary Magdalene come to annoint a 3-days old dead body?)

"taking advantage" of women?

Okay. From what i have come to gather, "taking advantage" of women is when a guy is sober, and makes a move on a girl who is intoxicated, and then proceeds to "hook up" My question is this: Why is this SO wrong? If there is a girl i find attractive, i would make a move on her whether she is drunk or not, so if she is drunk...isnt this unfair to me that i cant make a move on her? And also...if she is willing to get drunk and put herself into a position to be "taken advantage of", then why not?
