... Walter Reed is just the start.. But in all seriousness, we've spent so much on Iraq whlle our returning injured veterans face lack of sufficient care and follow up, much less being constrained to wait months and months for the paperwork mill to draw a first check re their disabilities.
The entire veterans hospital sytem is a disgrace!
(BUT. as far as the paperwork is concerned, and in all fairness it cannot all be blamed on the present administration. A friend's g'mother worked for fed. govt. for 30 years. She told us that she and many others as well, took two 45 min. breaks twice a day, took hr and 1/2 -sometimes 2 hour lunches, and basically did little or no work for the entire 30 years of her government service. This type of behavior is widespread amongst government workers.
