No kidding.

Pantone, the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, today announced the release of the Winter 2007/2008 edition of the PANTONEView Colour Planner - its cross-discipline color forecasting tool - titled "Metamorphosis."

Fall/Winter 2007/2008 emphasizes a season of change, transformation, mutation and shift.

And while there are no rules to follow in the traditional sense, designers can look for that breath of fresh air without being afraid that they've missed something.

For next year, it's about creating fresh concepts and fresh solutions by taking a fresh approach.

"The design industries look to Pantone to provide color direction," explains Tod Schulman, vice president of the fashion, home and interiors division at Pantone.

i happen to like yellow and the reason it is the main color on clothes this season is beacause it stands out and because it is a cute girly color to wear.

fashion industry is interesting...it comes down to money....
designers in order to sell things come up with a colour every season that hasn't been around for awhile..and they make it the colour for the season...it's to get people to go out and buy....that's what it's all about....dollars and cents....
i work in the fashion industry in manhattan.
