You can run it empty to clear that out but drain opener is a terrible thing to do to the dishwasher. That corrosive drain cleaner can destroy the pump and the heaters in it.
If the sink drain is OK then the dishwasher should drain OK too. Since the waste is pumped up by the dishwasher there is no way for the drain cleaner to flow down into the drain if it is not running. So it did not help anyway.

you should have read the d/w's owners manual! or the instructions on the bottle of drain cleaner! it is not good for the dishwasher seals, pump, hoses and any thing that it gets on inside the tub. since you have run an acid through it, run baking soda to neutralize it. and be sure that you stay in the kitchen while it runs, just in case you blew out the seals, so you can turn the d/w off before it floods the kitchen. you do not use drain cleaners on dishwashers, garbage disposers, or toilets. hope it still works and you don't get a leak/flood.

what blinking says... but i wouldnt let it run through a cycle unless it already has.. i would fill and stop it b4 run and turn to drain or hit cancel so it drains.. couple times to clean it out
