My daughter is 13 and she bonds better friendships with boys than with girls. I have no problem with that. She is especialy close to one boy who is 11 (yes, she's getting teased at school about that and doesn't care). Now she wants us to approve her having him as a boyfriend. We have a 'no boyfriend' rule so I asked her for their definition of a boyfriend. She said that they would just hang out together and talk. So I'm okay with that and set some boundaries - no physical contact beyond the normal with any of her friends, grades cannot got any lower (already struggling), she is not to ignore her other friends, no boys in the house (they can hang out in the yard). I accepted her definition and she agreed to the boundaries and I told her that this really means that they are friends - no more and no less. The boy totally accepts this however, my daughter is still acting all depressed about it. Furthermore, she didn't want me to tell my husband about it and the boy said that he couldn't...

This was inspired by a question someone asked about suicide in the family.

My brother's wife (30 years old) is dangerous. She is a paranoid schizophrenic who does illegal drugs, drinks about 20 alcoholic drinks a day (I AM NOT KIDDING), and dissappears with her girlfriends for days at a time going to weekend-long parties and having sex with anyone she wants. My brother and her have 2 children, age 8 and 6.

They live in Ontario and there, unless there is physical violence the children will not be taken away from the mother. If my brother divorces her, she will get custody of the kids because the court system's attitude in Canada is that kids always need to be with their mother - even a crazy, coke-snorting alcholic mother. So he stays to protect and care for the kids.

I consider this behavior dangerous, but the law does not. I wish I could do something about this. Has anyone else dealt with anything like it?

Hi all, how are you?

Well i have been feelign ill for months. But i suffer from Asthma, hey-fever and eczema all of which i belive are due to allergie but my doctor wont refure me to a allergie specialist as there arnt many in the UK and its a WHOLE 2 YEAR waitig list. Also my doctor doesnt know much on allergies only the basics which all the doctors know.....

I dont know what to do anymore, at the minute i have a headache, sore throat, eyes are watering, i feel sick and my asthma is worse....i really have no idea on what to do anymore.

Please Help, what else do i do??

My car failed to start last Friday,I was about 25 miles from home , in sub zero weather and had my young child with me; so I got a jump start. Not knowing where else to go near by, I went to Sears, because it was two blocks away. I assumed it must be a weak battery. I started to look at their batteries, when a sale clerk ask if he could help, I accepted, told him what happened, he suggested that I do a Diagnostic test to make sure nothing was wrong with my car. The test come back, everything is fine. 2 days later my Sears battery is Dead. I buy a new battery from Walmart, go back to Sears with their battery for a refund, They refused to give me a refund or my old battery back("against policy") which I found was a 72 month battery with 28 months on it. I immediatly took my car to my regular mechanic of 15 years. He found my Alternater was draining my battery and I needed a new starter and regulater. Why didn't Sears Diagnostic find anything?, easy sale? I didn't need a battery.

I asked a question about self-harm yesterday.

I now think I understand the pattern as being about trying to stay in touch with reality - looking at the scars reminds me that i'm human, normal. Sometimes, I feel like i'm slipping out of the world. Like i'm a secret agent or a gangster or a superhero. I fall to the impression that I have super-human powers - that I could fight anyone who attacked me, that I could hack computers, do anything I want, that i'm something more than a 17 year old schoolgirl! At least once a week I enter a new 'phase' - i'm going to be a top fraudster, i'm going to be a policewoman, i'm going to be a nun, i'm going to be a waitress... it's mad.

I realise experimentation is normal for my age-group, career-wise etc, but does my theory have any validity? Can anyone shine a light?
