I'm also wondering if the blonde ends up ugly on my hair, what should I do, should I go to a hairstylist to lighten it or should I shave it off with clippers & shaving cream?

IMO, do it yourself. It's so easy.
I'm not as picky about my color as I am about my cut. With color, you can always color over it if you don't like it. With a guy, it won't take long for the natural to grow back in either.
If you do it and dont' like it, give it a chance.... a week or so and see what other people say and you may end up loving it. If it's a dramatic change for you, it might take awhile just to appreciate it.

Just die the ends, let a professional do it if you really want it to look good, then of course if you are a guy cutting it off it always an easy option if you don't like it. But now days with everyone coloring their hair you may be more original to leave it your natural color.

It all depends on what color of hair, skin tone that you have right now.
If you want to go blonde, it would be best to go to a stylist, that way your hair is less likely to turn out orange.

If you do it yourself it probably will look crap, make sure you have the clippers handy.
